Some caution as always is needed in such situations. He is by no means here. However this is probably the biggest move forward in the opportunity for him to do so.

It looks as if the sale goes through very quickly. There have been mutterings about Kenwright coming off the board and I do wonder if the financing of the stadium, Kenwright leaving the board and Usmanov coming onto the board will all be solved at a similar time. None of any of them have made a lot of sense on their own, but when taken together it stacks up.

His estimated wealth, at 15 billion looks a bit low to me as well. The reality is they have little knowledge of how deep his pockets go and his wealth is growing by a figure of billions each year. I have seen reports that put it to closer to 20 billion. You throw in Sochi who is considerably more wealthy than Roman at Chelsea and what Moshiri has available and it is a substantial spending package.

I hope if he comes in, we can stop messing about in all areas and start thinking big.

As a final aside, people who have been extremely sceptical on this story are now reporting Usmanov will be selling, and even that Usmanov may join his friend. That to me is significant.

It would be good if Usmanov came in, but hasn’t FFP basically meant that Billionaires cannot just plough money into the club anymore, it has to be generated by themselves?

I know city got around this by having the Owners company sponsor the kit and the stadium. I suppose Usmanov could do that, plough a load of money into the stadium, I think invrstmaent in the stadium and training ground is exempt from FFP

Its not a report, its a fact as it was announced on the stock exchange last night. It still remains to be seen of he rocks up here.

I thought it was only wages, not fees that FFP was about. So we could spend as much as we want but the wages can only increase by a certain amount unless there is other income like sponsorship. One of the resident finance bods may know more.

Yeah basically you can’t plow money in because of FFP and STCC... however it suddenly send Everton to the for front and the 2nd Richest team in the prem.., suddenly we are an exciting proposition for players... if it happens
