Usmanov

I'm not going to overreact to this news bit I'm 10,000,000% sure this is happening he'll be hear on Wednesday evening and we will spend 3 hundred million on deadline day and another hundred and seventy million in January we'll finish second then spend another five hundred million then win the league, champions league, fa Cup but lose in the 4th round of the league Cup to Bradford.

Hope not, league cup was my best chance of getting to watch a game at Goodison without a restricted view

Leaving the UK is certainly an option (and may not preclude him from investing by the way). However having a base in the UK is of strategic importance and he will not likely want to reside in Russia.

Can you imagine the scenes if Usmanov became joint owner and Chairman of Everton and took up residence in the Liver Building.

This is what makes me think there may be something in this our transfer activity doesn't seem logical, i know we have cleared wages etc and shed a few (albeit at a loss). But 50 million on Richy, 20 on Dinge, Mina or another for 30 mill and we dont look like stopping there, a fair wedge in wages for Bernard, the business simply doesn't have that much money in it according to the accounts. Makes me think we have broken the Chinese piggy bank, if he came in and cleared that debt he has basically funded this window.

I think you are spot on with that. None of this window makes much sense really, the club doesn't have that money and what finance Moshiri has is likely to be geared towards the stadium. We then make a turn very quickly to signing people as you say,

It does make sense if you assume Usmanov give the thumbs up and a sudden change in pace and direction occurs.

The same is true for the stadium. We had built decent momentum up (relative for Everton) and then it has just gone silent and seemed to stall. The LCC deal was never first choice and Moshiri didn't want that disclosed. Again it doesn't make a lot of sense to slow it all down having rolled the architect out to speed things up.

The same is true regarding Silva/Brands coming. The fact that Simeone did approach Everton (from reliable sources). None of it makes sense if you view the club at the surface level of what we see, which is basically we are still almost sell to buy like under Kenwright. Kenwright could never have attracted such people to go out on a limb for him.

It all makes sense if there is a the wealthiest man in Russia and his side kick worth more than Abramovic coming on board with Moshiri. Then it all makes sense doesn't it? That not everything is as it seems.

Thats doesn't mean it's true though. It just means it would be a logical answer and a far better explanation than what we have provided to us currently. There could well be another explanation that has nothing to do with Usmanov. However, it all sort of ties up the last 2 years. 2 months and 2 weeks if he were to come.

Indeed. I don't see that as likely though. I wouldn't imagine he would have his main base there.

If we are being fanciful, why would he have his residence there, when he could just live on the Mersey in a super yacht :D

He could do both. Why not, he can probably do almost anything he wants.

Not one to get too excited about stuff, but if he is going to join everton.. i expect it to happen fairly quickly i.e. tomorrow. Is there too many little bits adding up to usmanov joining?? Kenwright leaving rumours, stadium needing funding, etc. ? Anyone else reckon that planning permission has been passed in private (unofficially) and now is the time to rubber stamp the deal?

Other option is we dont see or hear from usmanov for a long while in the uk, but to me his persona has taken a knock with Kroenke ‘winning’ his shares.. the money is nothing to him but it makes him out to be the weaker man vs kroenke.Certinatly no smoke without fire and at the minute there is a hell of a lot of smoke

Just can't happen I'm afraid. Planning process is a very open and public affair which can't be got around. Best case scenario is that they have done of lot of what's called pre-app works, whereby they have been spending a lot of time in discussion with the planning authority so that when the scheme is actually submitted for planning most, if not all of the design, capacity, off site upgrades, and required surveys have been agreed. Nice thought though and you'd not be totally wrong to think that planning permissions cannot be "manipulated" as everything becomes political in the end especially at this level of scheme.

Thats exactly it mate, when Silva said we would be signing 5-6 players i was thinking how?

Given we need to be debt free to secure finance for the new ground we just simply cant be carrying any debt what so ever. Money has come from somewhere even in the context of what we got in player trading.

We have definitely broken the Chinese piggy bank to my mind, but we cant be holding 60 million worth of a liability and go looking for stadium borrowing.

What wouldst surprise me would be a debt for equity swap, Mosh for the 150 million he invested and Usminov if we are after going into the red on what looks like a relatively high spend this window eventually. Of course with PL rules he cant do that yet.
