Yes, This is the point!....What,s the attraction in Everton?....Well They are a Founder club that since 1878 have only been outside top league Football for 5 out of 144 years. ....Around the world they are known, And I think we all forget that it's only in the past 30 years (With the formation of the Premiership!) that things haven't been too clever!
You forgot the Docklands and a new stadium
The USM arena at Brantley Moore Dock

Thats exactly it mate, when Silva said we would be signing 5-6 players i was thinking how?

Given we need to be debt free to secure finance for the new ground we just simply cant be carrying any debt what so ever. Money has come from somewhere even in the context of what we got in player trading.

We have definitely broken the Chinese piggy bank to my mind, but we cant be holding 60 million worth of a liability and go looking for stadium borrowing.

What wouldst surprise me would be a debt for equity swap, Mosh for the 150 million he invested and Usmanov if we are after going into the red on what looks like a relatively high spend this window eventually. Of course with PL rules he cant do that yet.

Yes. The whole 2 years hasn't made sense for me either though. Why did Koeman leave a stable job at Southampton and risk it all. Why did Allardyce come out of retirement (and be so cheesed off when he was sacked whereas at other clubs he happily left) etc. Why has Brands resisted Arsenal and turned down Chelsea to join Everton, if he had to sell 15% of the wage bill before he could buy?

There may be another explanation, I know a lot of fans don't see how odd the above is because we rightly hold Everton in very high regard. When you live in the city thats true. If you grew up outside of it, we are another regional club who've gone 2 decades since winning something. Our name and reputation alone is not a big enough pull in my view, and even with Moshiri's finances being significantly deeper than what's likely reported it's unlikely his are enough as well.

It would not surprise me if the Chinese debt facility was used. I am not entirely sure why it was negotiated, though I do wonder if further down the line we may see some Chinese investment/involvement and it's a precursor. However yes that can be wiped off without sanction. Also any fees paid can also be made available for spending going forward and they can also convert debt into equity, so they have some options available to them.

This window seems to have shifted pace. My own theory would be that brands and Silva felt the initial window may be difficult as it would be touch and go if Usmanov could come but future windows there would be significant funds available (probably far greater than what we've done over the last 2 years and over a longer period). Maybe Usmanov has got wind of the offer coming in and later in the window then we started signing players.

If he comes in over the next day or so (which reporters like Bascombe who is well connected are openly suggesting) expect a mental deadline day. I would rule nothing out. I really wouldn't rule out a bid for Hazard or things completely off the wall like that. It's a bit like Christmas as a kid this!

A lot of work has gone into the Planning Application documents.

Which would make a lot of sense and may be why we haven't heard a lot of official statements recently.

Anyway, back on top, get your backside down the Liver Building Mr Usmanov tout sweet. Oh and bring your bank details and fake UK passport.

Remember when we were investigated by Watchdog and were gonna get docked 80 points and sent into administration?

Yeah these guys manage to get around government regulators, international law, multiple different checks from law enforcement agencies yet a few tv reporters are going to expose them for the criminals they really are. That whole thing was laughable.

Sells his shares today.
Announces he’s bought Kenwright out tomorrow.
Upamecano and De Light announced as our new centre back pairing with N’Zonzi as defensive midfielder on Thursday.

Isn't she the sole heiress to the majority of the Wal Mart dough?

Nah, the Walton family own ~50% of Walmart and that's split between the 6 kids and the father.

She's super wealthy, as is her husband but Usmanov's wealth is more than the two of them combined.

Doesn't really matter regardless - it might as well be monopoly money.

I reckon this has been the plan all along, send Moshiri in to Everton to do the ground work and get everything in place for a move. He then puts pressure on kronke for a seat at the table, now he’s realised that kronke won’t budge and has an established premier league club with massive future potential to get involved in. It was a win win for him if he wants ownership of a club, he either got a seat at Arsenal or he got the top seat at Everton.
I really hope this comes off it’s about time we had a bit of luck.

Your a great balanced knowledgeable poster, writer, but I think you and everyone needs to calm down a bit. Remembering, we,re Everton, we know how this always plays out. Hope I’m wrong, but 53 years of experience tells me otherwise
