Usmanov

Won’t make a difference. Lack of money hasn’t been our issue recently. Until Ancelotti we hired crap managers who bought crap players and we play in a competition where every single aspect of it is weighted towards two clubs historically but probably only one at a time and the current beneficiary is our neighbours meaning on the seesaw of premier league teams it probably takes us more effort for each point earned than any other team.

I can easily go for that, But that's not what some are saying now is it?

They are suggesting from Moshiri buying shares in 2016 it was all Usmanov behind the scenes, It was Usmanov hiring Koeman/Walsh/Fat Sam/Silva/Brands ect

My instinct is he's been involved in some background capacity. Not to the extent of picking managers though.

Theres a chance of something substantial taking place now though. Like stadium funding or sponsorship. Or even an outright shareholding.

Who knows really. But you cant say theres no chance of him getting involved when he literally said he might like too.

Yes but some on here are saying Moshiri was the face and nothing more, if thats the case he's been making all the decisions

Alright then mate. I'll bow to your superior knowledge.

Things change in business though. I know that much. What's to say he did want control of Arsenal. But wasnt able to get it. So might be interested in Everton now that he holds no interest in Arsenal?
I thought that was the case all along tbh.

He was never in control ffs. He owned 30%, the other bloke owned nearly 70%.

Sorry, you've come in half way though, I said he would never have risked being involved with Everton if he'd gained control of Arsenal, Someone suggested he would

You're a smart guy Dave. Consider the broader picture.

Just today we seem perilously close to WW3. Russias closest ally on one side, the UKs on the other. You then have a high profile Russian, with links to the top of the Russian state, and a club having to get a new infrastructure project past the UKs local and potentially national government. It's very obvious why he has had to stay in the background until that's a long way to being granted.
I dont see the geo-political implications, tbh.

There defo was a personal reason for oligarchs to attach themselves to English football clubs, but I serioulsy doubt Usmanov is serious about this. It sounds like a throwaway line to a journalist's fishing expedition.
