Ah didn’t realise it didn’t load properly. It said MLS teams will compete in the Libertadores in 2024What did it say?
Can you imagine a team like Toronto or Seattle visiting Buenos Aires midweek?Ah didn’t realise it didn’t load properly. It said MLS teams will compete in the Libertadores in 2024
Not a fan of the idea? Can you imagine a team like Toronto or Seattle visiting Buenos Aires midweek?
I’m not. To me the Libertadores is a uniquely South American event and I don’t really want it to be merged with our North American system. I’d like them to be able to have their own tournament. Not a fan of the idea?
Nothing my local team, the Colorado Rapids, will have to worry about any time soon....Ah didn’t realise it didn’t load properly. It said MLS teams will compete in the Libertadores in 2024

Is it only Mexican and US clubs dominating CONCACAF or do clubs from other countries play a role too? Might be good for CONCACAF clubs to merge with a CONMEBOL tournament?Agree with this. North America should build its own tournament and history. A one time combined tournament like el centenario is fine, but not as a regular occurrence.
Well, it's certainly not dominated by the US - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CONCACAF_Champions_CupIs it only Mexican and US clubs dominating CONCACAF or do clubs from other countries play a role too? Might be good for CONCACAF clubs to merge with a CONMEBOL tournament?
But I think recently finals tend to be contested only by Liga MX and MLS clubs? I would think any merger would be good for Mex and MLS clubs, less so for the rest of CONCACAFWell, it's certainly not dominated by the US - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CONCACAF_Champions_Cup

I dont have the numbers in front of me, but my sense is that if you look back farther than about 10 years you are fooling yourself about the current state of affairs, much like the top flight in England. But I think recently finals tend to be contested only by Liga MX and MLS clubs?
