I’m not. To me the Libertadores is a uniquely South American event and I don’t really want it to be merged with our North American system. I’d like them to be able to have their own tournament.

Agree with this. North America should build its own tournament and history. A one time combined tournament like el centenario is fine, but not as a regular occurrence.

Nothing my local team, the Colorado Rapids, will have to worry about any time soon....

Is it only Mexican and US clubs dominating CONCACAF or do clubs from other countries play a role too? Might be good for CONCACAF clubs to merge with a CONMEBOL tournament?

But I think recently finals tend to be contested only by Liga MX and MLS clubs? I would think any merger would be good for Mex and MLS clubs, less so for the rest of CONCACAF

I dont have the numbers in front of me, but my sense is that if you look back farther than about 10 years you are fooling yourself about the current state of affairs, much like the top flight in England.

US teams are typically opponents to Mexican teams in the semis.

I would expect US teams to win more in the future as MLS continues to improve...there has been a long, gentle upward trajectory.

It might be beneficial to usa and mex teams to abscond in the short term, but they will never be more than guests down there.
