can any Americans tell me if they are club before country or country before club? In all honesty I wouldn't even celebrate that much if England won it, then again your national captain isn't the most hated player of your bitter rival along with several other of his minions playing along side him. I will be rooting for the Everton players though and if he was fit in time I would of loved an Oviedo winner against England.

I am country before club. But I know some people on here are club first (@RaleighBlue :))

Country > Club

I think there was actually a poll on this not too long ago? I can't seem to find it at the moment.

Among Evertonians, the English are more likely to support club over country, but everybody else was more likely to support country over club, notably the Yanks and Scots.

I suppose the English problem is most Evertonians in England would say "Scouse, not English." The rest of us don't have to deal with the regionalism, so that's understandable.

I don't mind what people decide in that regard. It's all sport in the end. Who you choose to identify with most is a personal decision of little real world consequence.

It's tough for me to say. I'd give up my first born for the US to win a World Cup.

But I spend way more time focused on watching, thinking about, talking about and genuinely caring about Everton. I am gutted when Everton lose, but when the US lose I can usually just sigh it off cause were gash.

Probably has a lot to do with everyone I know being more invested in the he US than everton so the celebration would be unrivaled.

I find these two are non-competing allegiances. They are different loves, but neither is jealous of the other. But USMNT >> all the other US teams, save USATF. I love USATF and get really excited when the Olympics come around. I can't be arsed to care about international competition in the other sports except hockey, and although I have no loyalty to Finland, I actually enjoy watching Suomi hockey much more than USA Hockey.
