non-competing, as SN said, but if forced to pick, I'd go country.

Everton are oft disregarded in consideration of the Premier League. This season people have posted pics that listed Spurs and Man U, behind us, in the title chase, while omitting our beloved side. You get called 'bitters' for it.

Now, imagine being an Everton fan if Everton had never won anything. And the rest of the premier league doesn't bother to rate you. And you are surrounded in your homeland by people who thoroughly dislike not the club, but the sport itself. At least the kopites you are surrounded by still enjoy the same game.

SO..

EFC topping the table is a big flying middle-finger to the established PL pecking order.

USA winning the World Cup is a big flying middle finger salute to Septic Bladder, FIFA, the established world pecking order... and another big flying single finger salute to the dbags back home who not only dislike the sport, but who actively mock those of us who love it.

So USA trumps EFC. Both would be a source of outrageous, uncontrollable bouncing off the walls screaming joy. But USA has the added plus of a second level of F-U schadenfreude.

Frankly, I'd be ecstatic with experiencing either just once in my lifetime.

Semi-related:

June 28th, 2009. In another world, after Luis Fabiano's first goal, the US buckle down and hold on to win their first ever major international honor.

How much do you think that changes the perception of US soccer?

Pretty sure nobody gives 2 fcks about the confed cup, its basically a glorified friendly.

I guess I'd rank at as 4th biggest international tourney.

1. World Cup
2. Euro
3. Copa America
4. Confederations Cup

It doesn't have much history though. Think both it and the Club World Cup will become bigger deals as they get some more memorable moments to their names.
