For the opener I'm to be in Torino, and would love to find other Americans to watch the match with.
Same goes for Lyon and Marseille for the next two matches......

STANFORD, Calif. – For Landon Donovan, this pre-World Cup training camp is reminiscent of 2002. Back then he was younger of course, but unsure if he would make the final 23-man roster. He insists that the same is true now.
Donovan’s sentiments shouldn’t be confused with a lack of confidence however. As Donovan addressed the media for the first time on Monday, he made it clear where he thinks he stands.
“I don’t have doubt,” he said. “I’m very confident in my abilities. I think I’m deserving to be a part of this squad. But I have to earn that.”
And he knows that will mean impressing U.S. manager Jurgen Klinsmann, a man who has certainly made Donovan earn everything since returning from his sabbatical a little over a year ago. There have been moments where Klinsmann has praised Donovan, but there have also been times when he hasn’t been afraid to hold the L.A. Galaxy attacker accountable, whether it was pulling him from a World Cup qualifier last October, or not starting him in a friendly against Mexico last April.
For that reason, there have been whispers that the relationship between the two has been strained. Donovan stated unequivocally that this wasn’t the case, and that his rapport with Klinsmann has been like that of any player and coach.
“Jurgen hasn’t wavered from day one in how he coaches the team,” said Donovan. “We have a very good understanding of what’s expected, what he wants. He pushes us hard. He knows what it takes to be a world champion. None of us know that. He understands that very clearly and he pushes us to our limits so that when we get to June 16 [against Ghana] we’re prepared.”
Donovan admitted in an interview with ESPNFC.com last month that he couldn’t always push himself in training if he was to have anything left for the game at the weekend. On Monday, he indicated that while the workouts so far have been taxing, he’s been coping well.
“It takes every ounce of energy off the field to make sure that you’re prepared,” he said. “There’s going to be training sessions during these days when I just don’t have 100 percent energy. But it’s part of getting through it and fighting through it. I feel like my energy has been really good. We track our workload and all that stuff and [team-wide] I’ve been right at the top of all of that. I feel very good about where I’m at.”
So do his teammates. For all of the speculation that Donovan might be left off the final roster, goalkeeper Tim Howard is convinced that -- Donovan’s health permitting -- the U.S. team’s all-time leading scorer will be on the plane to Brazil.
“For me it’s very easy, if Landon is on the field, he’s [one of] our top one or two players,” he said prior to Monday’s training session. “That’s just my opinion. Whether it means anything or not, I don’t know. Landon is humble. But for me, he’s easily one of our best players and he strikes fear into opponents.
The ensuing weeks will reveal if Klinsmann agrees.
Notes:
-- Much was made of the coaching staff shakeup just prior to the Mexico game, when Berti Vogts was hired on as an advisor and No. 1 assistant Martin Vasquez was demoted. So what exactly has Vogts been doing? Evidently, he’s been focusing on his day job as manager of Azerbaijan, who the U.S. face on May 27. According to a U.S. Soccer spokesman, Vogts isn’t in camp at the moment, and isn’t expected to begin focusing on the U.S until after that match. At that point, Vogts will head back to Europe to do some scouting.
-- While Aston Villa endured an up-and-down season in the English Premier League, U.S. goalkeeper Brad Guzan delivered some solid performances for the club. As a consequence he has every intention of remaining with the Villans.
“I’ve got three years left,” he said in reference to his contract. “I don’t plan on going anywhere. But we all know football is a crazy game and you just don’t know what’s around the corner. The club has been really good to me. Hopefully I can continue to repay them with some really good performances. “
-- Donovan was full of praise for the performances of San Jose Earthquakes forward Chris Wondolowski both prior to and during the current training camp.
“Every time during this process generally an attacking player hits form at the right time,” he said. “Right now in training, in the games, everything [Wondolowski] does is turning to gold right now. You can tell he’s confident, he’s fit. I’d say he’s one of the top two or three fittest guys here. He’s playing well, he’s helping the team, he’s defending, so he’s in really good form right now. It’s been fun to watch.”
Since Del Boy is out for next year, I think Everton should try to loan Julian Green.
It would make me oh so happy.
We definitely need more Americans. Why? Because I say so.
Bet Joe Max Moore has still got something in the tank for a return to Goodison.....
Bradley - McCarthy - Barkley
Please don't wake me
I have actually thought that Bradley would be great for this team. Playing the role he did for Roma.
Would really allow Mccarthy to not worry about contributing up the pitch as much (not like he does too much anyways.....)
Think Bradley and Aron the Ice King would be the only two Americans I would take at Everton in all honesty. (Still never seen Green play..... and Johannson is still raw and potential as well....)
