For the record, I love Tim, I was intending for it to be other than the player we already own.
Fun little Timmy and another American international anecdote actually......
I was at the match when he was playing for the Metrostars against DC United when Eddie Gaven got his second match and scored the game winner in extra time.
The catch: the Metrostars had already used their 3 subs, so switched Howard with a forward, and subbed the forward out for Eddie Gaven, because at that point (2003 I think....) you could make a 4th substitution if it for the Goalkeeper. So Gaven was subbed in as a keeper, Howard was playing the field and when the Metrostars got the ball booted it as far down the pitch as they could so Howard and Gaven could switch kits and Timmy could put his gloves back on.
Gaven went on to score the game winner as I said, and needless to say DC United was livid.
that sequence should have featured "Yakkety Sax" (aka the Benny Hill theme) blaring over the stadium PA.

Pretty sad, but how can you feel that bad for a 20 year old making almost 100k? He's a real quality player and will be making the big dollars soon enough.
I get what you're saying, but it's peanuts compared to what he'd make elsewhere.
I wasn't even really making a point to be honest, just thought it was interesting.
