the horrible part of this is that the very dark forces that made us suffer in the last game - will more than likely benefit us in future games. Lampard knew what he needed to say and did it brilliantly - he has made a mark on the suits who will be very wary of him as he's not some half bothered manager who tries his best not to get fined
Now..... as far as i'm concerned if some dodgy calls happen and we survive as a result then I will take it with a large element of discomfort. Yes we have been done and as far as im concerned it was corruption (not a mistake) whether it be gambling money, tv money or just some sad sack who is on a power trip who hates scousers or loves man city. They will be scared of us going down as there could be a big investigation into this and the league get taken to court.
The game is not in a good place. I knew this a few years back when it was as though refs were trying for Liverpool to win the league - extra added time, last minute free kick vs Newcastle. It took Man city to dig in to actually win it.
Many fans will be starting to cancel sky - especially after the boxing.

@HumbleWedbetters, and you are spot on in voicing that this all started many years ago.
Not going to go back to the actual birth of football in 1993, but something pretty stand out at the time.
Again Citee were our opponents, but it was shortly after Tim Cahill signed. O-O with not that long to go if I recall with any accuracy (not a given by any means) and our new boy slots. Nothing wrong with that and goal given. Tim lifts his shirt over his face. Steve (Gordon) Bennett gives him a second yellow. Now a red card, Tim is off. This despite the rule saying it should only be a yellow if the player takes his shirt completely off. Tim trudges off because of another referee louse-up
.
The interview after with the then Citee manager, Kevin Keegan, was asked his opinion of the dismissal. The following is not verbatim, but it was pretty damning the direction football was heading. Keegan said that the game was passionate and spontaneous and done in real time and the sending off was a joke. He expressed a desire for full on entertainment because otherwise the game would be under total control of rules and referees.
He concluded that if the game wasn't given to the players to express themselves, and the fans to enjoy, that the game would be played by robots and there wouldn't be anybody in the stands to watch it. Why? Because it would be boring.
How true that sentiment is today, and basically, from that time on. Approx. 2006.
