Utterly incandescent

An apology means so little in the grand scheme of things.
What's more important to me is a referee with City connections making such important decisions that affect 'his' club.
This was not simply a bad decision; at best it was a biased decision, and at worst possibly a corrupt decision.
This needs looking at much, much closer by the Premier League and FA. Has an apology been made in the hope that that's the end of the matter I wonder?

It

It was Jon Moss another charlatan.
I do believe you are correct @Sheedy's right knee, I am probably letting a whole heap of outrage affect my decision.
Correct call about Moss though. A total (poor language removed by poster).

The whole crux of this matter, and so many other totally incorrect decisions throughout the whole of football ( scab six excluded), we have to remember just who is the supremo for the 'professional' referees consortium. Non other than the worst referee of his generation; yup, Mike 'Old Mother' Riley. Nuff said.
Also consider the absolute galoot of a referee Riley put as 'Overlord' of the entire VAR control room who holds sway to EVERY decision for EVERY game Everton are involved in........step forward Lee Mason.
We are up against it. Totally, with this mess of bias in charge. Do not forget that the referee who holds the record for awarding more penalties against any one team, ever, than any other referee against any other team, is Mason. The team is obviously Everton.
We stand no chance whatsoever now he has full control and final decision now he is safely locked away in a darkened room without anybody being able to question him.
HE is the one we should be targeting. Head on. Full-on polygraph test for absolute transparency.
Don't hold your breath Gudbud, for I certainly won't be.

They always have their rear gunner, The Man With No Shame (apologies to Clint Eastwood), Dermot Gallagher. This greb accepts being put in front of the media to tell whopping great porkies, without any challenge whatsoever, to fall back on though. This is their way of publicly accepting a mistake has occurred, and as it will be seen that the error has been addressed, no more will be said. A massive PR Fraud and one they continually use, and get away with, so, job done for them.
I only hope this Everton challenge to this cosy status quo inspires other teams, again Scab Six excluded, which have been done wrong to, now start voicing their need for, dramatic and immediate and sustainable, improvement. It is way too long overdue.

Apologies for my rant, not at you of course, but at all injustice in general, but this particular one especially.
Enjoy your day and stay safe.

It's the same with Mike Dean refereeing games involving Merseyside clubs. There's too much scope for bias or accusations of bias.

I'm surprised we've received an apology. The powers that be sometimes admit to a mistake but rarely seem to apologize... But then will the people responsible be available for the next round of fixtures? I imagine they will.

An apology doesn't give us a much needed point or uplifting result. These 'mistakes' will continue to happen because there is an inherent bias to keep certain clubs active in competition as it brings more attention and money to the game and those sponsoring it. I don't see it changing in a positive way.

A proper apology would accompany a statement that both referees now face enquiries as to whether they have made any other dodgy decisions that may have benefitted certain clubs or worked against others. The sim is to demonstrate that officiating can be depended upon to be neutral, unbiased and honest (as if!).

So this ain't a proper apology.
