My point is his cost v his contribution. CL opportunity or not, I've always thought he was a brilliant player - id have chipped in myself if I thought we'd had a chance to sign him.

great brace from him today, but for the goals the brilliant plays came from modric / bale respectively. and while he's a very different style of player from cahill, positionally he's almost identical. i really don't think he'd have added as much to our team as some might think
