VAR

I think yesterday highlights why it’s rigged. In the derby, you could argue we got the rub of the green. Look how crazy the media went and the scrutiny of Oliver. Despite being poor for both.

Then they get a dodgy pen against Wolves no one says anything and the pen yesterday, you get yeah it should have been a pen and move on. No scrutiny or outrage.

I think we got given the derby goal because if it was disallowed the refs safety would have been in question.

There is only 2 ways forward with VAR is managers challenge like NFL, you get 1 per half if you are right and your challenge is accepted then you keep it for another attempt if you are wrong you lose it with a 30 second time limit for replays, the second way is to bin it altogether. If it is taking 3 minutes to allow a clearly onside goal and another 3 to disallow a clear penalty VAR in it's current form is broken.
A challenge system wouldn’t really make any difference because it would just be used for every goal anyway, because they’re the difference makers and there’s few enough of them to justify just using it for the sake of it.

It could be fine if it was just used as a general tidying up tool. Goal goes in, VAR just has a quick check that nothing obvious was missed, goal given. Penalty not given, VAR says to ref you’ve dropped a clanger there he definitely trips him, penalty given. Nobody would have an issue with that, it was sold as stopping clear and obvious errors and that would undoubtedly be a good thing.

The issue is them trying to microanalyse things and almost go looking for stuff. There was no need for the delay on betos goal yesterday, or for palaces goal last week. If you can’t see an offside from 2 replays he’s not offside, nobody cares if his shoulder was 2mm ahead. And the penalty decision was just not a clear and obvious error in anyone’s book, it was a bit soft and he went down easily but he clearly was impeded.

Over the last 2 weeks we've seen 3 VAR decisions last a few minutes on each occasion, against Liverpool, Palace and now yesterday. It's absolutely ridiculous the amount of time they are taking to make decisions. It seems to me that when something goes our way they check it with a fine tooth comb looking for anything.

I know fans of other clubs will feel hard done by , but I genuinely think that us and Wolves are screwed over time and time again.

We really need to kick up a fuss about this because it seems to be blatant now

And they were all clear incidents that should have took secs, that fans could see. They are over analysing everything way over the top.
Over analysing ours to actively look for ways to disallow and rule out our goals or overturn penalty decisions.

They take next to no time for any decisions or goals for the scabs - it actually happened in the derby and against the mancs.

I’m sure other non-scabs clubs get the same unfair treatment as we do, but as I’m not at those games I don’t know.

It’s like the scab clubs have a separate VAR rule book just for them, it’s totally corrupt.

Totally sick of the whole VAR "Everton"experience to be honest, how many times since it came in can you say oh I think we've got away with one there or benefitted?doucoure with the shirt tug at forest? can't even remember if it went to VAR!!!,same thing happened as yesterday with DCL opening day the ref gave the pen,var got involved ,he went and looked at a blank screen and reversed the decision,it also appears to me anyway that anytime we score they are going through it frame by frame to find any opportunity to disallow it,goals are just given automatically at the "big" clubs whether or not there is a slight infringement straight back to the centre spot and kick off!!!

According to this, Southampton, Ipswich, Arsenal and Bournemouth are the most disadvantaged teams with Newcastle receiving the most decisions in their favour, by far.

The thing that is missing from the use of VAR is the consistency by the officials - all of them; on-field and those looking at screens and drawing lines. It isn't VAR, it's the (mis)interpretation of both the rules of the game by the officials applying those rules and by the same officials when they decide whether or not VAR should be involved.

He's the same as Merse, both addicts for different reasons, Murphy was a serious cocaine addict and kept his job from being in recovery.
He's in the right place, an old colleague of mine who works for the BBC as a scenes heavy goods driver all over Europe related to me of what goes on with BBC top dogs on some production teams in overseas Hotels allegedly ...

That table doesn't really mean anything. If you "score" 10 goals that are close but the lino doesn't flag because they know VAR will check, and they're all offside then you've been disadvantaged. Truth is, if there was no VAR they'd probably have flagged most of them offside.

I think I’m more annoyed by the checks on our first goal. I have no idea what they were trying to find for all that time.
They took ages looking at Lindstrom swinging at it, when Beto clearly wasn't even in an offside position. I think Mazraoui(?) had alleged a foul, which obviously meant they needed to check it over and over again. Then they checked a Doucoure header earlier in the melee when Beto was in an offside position, presumably wanting to confirm that he was in the goalkeeper's line of vision.

Unacceptable delay, there was clearly nothing wrong with it straight away.
