VAR

I haven't celebrated a goal properly since Ndiaye's run against Tottenham, only then because there was no doubt of intervention. There's always hesitation now.
100 percent. Ruins everything. I’m a big rugby fan as well as footy but the video ref thing lends itself more to rugby as it’s a stop start game anyway with all the various set pieces. VAR just detracts from the flow of football. Especially when the officials are either utterly incompetent or corrupt.

At least in international rugby the ref explains the decisions to the crowd on the mic.

This should be a massive story. The var official chose not to show the evidence that proved the referees original decision, that it was a penalty was the correct decision. How are you meant to trust the officials anymore after this. Of course the premier league immediately released statements with the head of referees all stating why the referee was right not to give it. But every football fan in england has now seen that the var official witheld by choice the evidence that proved it was a penalty. That proves an agenda and brings the game into disrepute. I would hope our fan associations write to the head of the league and head of officials asking the questions this has brought up. I hope they get on sky and the news stating what theyve done so everyone knows about it. For the greater good of the game and the trust between all supporters and the game that there is no agenda which favours certain clubs. I am not naive at all but this is a chance to shine a light on the bias.
Or just get ugly with the response instead, people power n all that. The officials should've been blasted for it pitchside at the time. TBH id of taken a red card yesterday getting my thoughts across. This club is too soft, whilst we don't want to be the RS or manure with players constantly in the refs ear, it seems it's what gets you results.

There should be a time limit on decisions, a maximum of 30 seconds should be time enough to spot an 'obvious' error. If its not obvious, stick with the refs decision and crack on. I hate VAR, as its sacking the enjoyment from the game.
Simply put I go to the stadium less because of VAR.
It's removed, arguably, the single best part of the game and it won't come back.

It can get you results or leave you a man down the next match. I prefer Moyes’ diplomatic approach. He said enough to make his point known. There’s nothing that would change the result.
I’m the other way, and think Moyes was too soft on it yesterday, regardless if it doesn’t change the result.

I’m not asking for a shippmann-esqe meltdown when we don’t get a throw in, but the corruption on display yesterday needs shouting and screaming about, and we’ve been far too nice and soft as an organisation for far too long - as the miracle worker would have said, we need to change the story about Everton and VAR shafting us.

Not that we had much to celebrate under Dyche, but I too was hesitating on any goal we scored because of VAR, and the matchday experience was much poorer for it.

Ive decided to just enjoy the moment and celebrate as it happens now, if they decide to cheat a goal away or it was offside or whatever, then so be it and I’ll fume as it happens.

Im not giving the corrupt bellwhiffs the power to ruin the game any more than they already have done.

Hope the club create a song and dance over what happened yesterday, the PL arent even trying to be clever with the cheating and corruption on var and the officials now, it’s in plain sight.

The club needs to complain to the PL over decisions made in the game.

They will not take any notice.

It’s a fine line, right? Go too far and you get booked or labeled as a whiner, which could affect future calls where the refs look the other way. If you don’t say enough you get walked all over, which we’ve been kind of doing in recent years.

But the league had us by the short hairs and we had no leverage or strength. So it just snowballed and got so much worse. We just took it. Winning gives you confidence and leverage. And so does money. We’re starting to see both of those things happening.

It stands to reason that the days are coming where we can push back harder and say more directly what we’re thinking without fear from the league. In the end, leave the hardline negotiations and tactics behind the scenes with TFG. Leave the diplomacy and tact to Moyes as the public face of the club.

VAR is part of a much bigger problem, Clough was right when he said TV would ruin game. Its given RS and United a huge advantage over othrrs clubs. Sadly fans are part of the problem, if fans just stayed silent for 1st half for let's say Wolves game or chant Eff VAR it sends a message. As long as apathetic fans just put up with this nonsense it won't change. Premier Leagues product is reliant on fans creating an atmosphere if fans don't take part in charade, it will send a message.
