Victor holds the ball up better than any of our strikers, played well last night and was unlucky with the first booking.

He does do that, and ne needs to cut it out of his game really.

That doesn't represent his workrate on the day though, he worked hard, put a good shift in and took pressure off us on a number of occasions. His hold up play was pretty decent with what he could work with.

Fair enough. I thought Saha did a good job when he came on though - didn't make up for previous weeks, but maybe the bleach from his hair dye is having an impact. :)

Saha held it up better than Victor last night (granted he hasn't done it well for the rest of the games this year) and I'd put Yak (in form) ahead of Victor too.

Unlucky with the first booking is all well and good but he was booked, knew (or should have known) he was coming off so he has to avoid anything bookable for one more minute.

I really wish he'd done well because I think we've all had enough of Saha but just when it seemed Moyes had enough as well (finally) Anichebe does that and Saha comes on and looks improved (meaning we're probably stuck with him again -- Saha picked a great time to be in the best health of his career ... finally not injured and he's [Poor language removed]).

Victor Anichebe - The Black Messi...

Ive slated him for weeks on end and then he turns out a performance like that today!?
Chasing back winning the ball in his own half, holding the ball up, using his strength to good effect for once, unsettling Kompany who has been one of the best defenders in the Prem this season
It was good to see him get the individual standing ovation when he came off because you could see the lad reacting to it and i think the booing that he got (which was still deserved at the time IMO) had affected his confidence a little bit
Who knows tho, hes probably still a useless lump but at the minute youve got to say he's a cert to start against West Brom next week
Maybe Moyes was right to stick with him while seemingly EVERY evertonian that you spoke to disagreed with his inclusion?

No. He was wrong to stick with him -- at CF.

But he was a beast today at RM, just like he was last season, and he worked very, very well with Beckford. Anichebe as a lone striker is something I hope we don't see again for a long time.

Nah, sorry he's still absolutely terrible. Marc Hottiger had the odd good game too.

I just can't see anything in him that suggests he's anything more than a bottom-tier Championship standard striker.

Good on him for putting a shift in today like.

Wouldnt a "Nigerian Messi" be more apt?

Am I missing something?

Is "black" not politically correct?

And he's as English as he is Nigerian for me. He's lived here for all but 1 of his 23 years, and he's got a scouse accent ffs.

I think he was not being completely serious. :)

Although... we wouldn't automatically call Messi the "white Anichebe" would we? :P

I think that's because Messi and Anichebe have nothing in common.

I've heard people use the "White Pele" phrase hundreds of times, though.

He is awful. But I hope ends up as a winger, he is not a forward in my opinion, had his best efforts out wide in the 2nd half, as he usually
Does
