Where are you getting the figures from?

The club have released info to the press of an ongoing negotiation process and it resulted in the player getting booed. You're fine with that are you?

Davek's doing his Machiavellian political manoeuvring thing as we speak.

Of course its his right. Nobody denies him that. this isn't Guantanamo.

But it's my right to think he's a greedy [Poor language removed] who doesn't give two shits about the fans as well.

Yep.

Although the fans that booed him when all that had come out were run of the mill paper rumours, were probably being a bit premature. Once you have a bit more than quoteless accusations, then form an opinion.

However I doubt it's money. I think he probably just wants regular footie. Moyes doesn't always give youth that much game time, but then similarly Vic seems to get injured whenever he threatens to break into the first team. So I guess it's hard to place the blame in one corner there.

Moyes doesn't give youth much game time? Are you having a laugh?

In comparison to..?

I think we are one of the top three or four clubs in the league at giving youth a chance.

As for regular footy, he gets a fair amount when he's fit. Are you suggesting he has deserved more? Back when Saha was scoring or Yakubu was knocking them in for fun?

People are so blind, in their hero worship of footballers, to see them for what they are, venal opportunists with little love for the club and community that nurtures them and enables their god like lifestyles.

They stated the door was still open, but no more negotiating will take place. He's had their best offer and Anichebe refused it point blank.

The figures are according to the Daily Post - presumably local press would have some source inside the club to verify the figures.

It's amusing that you accept the words of a local press reporter in your above link regarding Victor's wage offer, but you hold another poster to account on the '1st April' thread for not sticking to what the manager/club has actually stated on January transfers.

Maybe some consistency is in order?

I've talked about this quite a bit before, how I think his exposure of youth is exaggerated and a bit of a misconception.

I'm not saying he never utilises it, but as a safety first kind of guy, he sticks with the tried and tested -- even if average/underperforming -- instead of taking a gamble, i.e. youth.

Every successful manager in the world is cautious bringing on talent. That includes Alex Ferguson or pretty much any talented manager you care to name, unless I much less mistaken.

If we let the fans decide, Gueye would be starting the next match on the wing. (neatly avoiding the fact he was no great shakes against Brentford). After three matches of him looking out of his depth, they'd then be calling for him to be dropped and labelling him a waste of money.

Bang goes his confidence as well as our results. What Moyes does with youth players makes sense and our record is second to none (well its deffo up there anyway).

Thats a very good point. But as, with your point, there is always a counter arguement.

It could be argued that if Gueye for example did play 3 games on the wing and looked out of his depth, that indeed he is not good enough for Everton.

Back to your point, I understand that players get better and don't just come out of a factory as the finished article.

It's swings and roundabouts all day.

You may have a point to a degree.

Still that article combined with this one from the OS tells us he's deffo been offered the contract unless everyone is lying and he's definitely turned it down flat.

"Victor seems fine. I had a chat with him earlier in the week," said Moyes. "I spoke with him and said the figures which were quoted were wrong, but the fact is he's been offered a contract and said no to it."

"The booing is part of it. You've just got to get on with it, and play and show what you can do. The disappointing thing is that he has not played so much.

"I made the reference that the supporters don't boo Steven Pienaar, but that's because he's out there playing and giving his all.

"If you do that the supporters will cheer and clap you."

I also read (there's so many articles I lose track) that it represented their best offer. Maybe the Daily Post has got the figure wrong and maybe Everton has offered something derisory so I'll admit I don't know. But between a young footballer and Moyes and the club I know which one I trust and support. As do you by the sounds of it.

Never been a 'Big Vic' fan, and thought he was extremely naive tonight, let the side down badly.

Anyone think Saha should have started?

I was dead jealous when Jo came on for them!
