I look at that miss at the end in a slightly different way.

It was at the end of a long gruelling game in which Anichebe had played a really top class game.He still had the strength to take the ball from the defender, take him on and force a very good save from the keeper.
There is always an element of luck in close situations like that, the goalkeeper makes himself as big as possible and hopes the ball strikes some part of him,a few inches in either direction or a fraction of a second could have meant the winning goal.He did everything right apart from score.

We ain't throwing hand grenades, mate.

yes well played Victor, more of the same please.

In days of old you'd have gone off or at best skulked around the pitch until taken off but no, you continued giving 2 quality centre backs severe grief all day, very impressive.

Better as a lone striker ? (ref. Stoke game when him and Jelavic started, at times he didn't seem to know what to do with himself, not enough space to function properly.

He took a knock towards the end if the first half, and in seasons gone by I think he would have either come off there and then, or hobbled round until half time feeling sorry for himself, then come off. Testament to his new attitude that he stayed out and was one of our MOTMs

Vic was absolutely boss today. He bullied their 8' 2" centre halfs all afternoon and teased us by winning a bet worth a grand off Jags, who said he couldn't hit the post without scoring from six yards out, before tucking the second in.

I've always said he was gash but I'm happily eating my words.

Well in Vic. But please, no party tricks on Wednesday, just slot it in lad.

Has he got a date on Wednesday mate?

couple people watching had a go at him over that chance that hit the post, demanding he should have hit first time. when you watch the replay it was amazing composure. think some never going to be won round. immense today, was player who gave me most confidence when things shaky in first half

he looks like he has lost some weight
