We're probably not far away in what we think about him. Vic wouldn't be first choice in any of the top six teams, but he gives us an option and has come on a lot this season. In an ideal world we'd spunk 25 million on a world class striker and he'd be sat on the bench at best, but we don't have that cash so we go with what we've got.

This time last season I thought that if we sold him he'd only be good for the Championship. Now I think he'd fit in quite easily at a mid-table Premiership club, that's a lot of progress.

I remember Kevin Ratcliffe when he was gash, players often improve. I doubt Vic will ever step up to the plate like Ratters did
but I'm happy to give Anichebe more time.

I really hope he steps up and proves me wrong mate, I will be the first to come on here and hold my hand up and admit I got it wrong but I just think he has that extra something he needs missing. That's not a bad thing as he's doing the best he can with what he has.

agreed was fuming had that been Kev cough moist he would of chipped lloris

he did try and dink it over him. Was class from Lloris tbf, what you get for 12 mill, made himself big. Maybe if he;d taken it a touch earlier, Lloris wouldn't of been set and could of squeezed past him.

He's really changed my opinion about him this season. Not flopping around anymore whinging, he's getting stuck in, doing the work and he's finally started using his strength and physique. I used to absolutely hate him, now I don't mind him. Doubt he will be the long term answer to our strike problems, but he's shown great improvement.

How old is Victor now? 23/24?

Try to forget about his Age. Any chances he's missing now or doing things wrong, he'll do better next time becuase his attitude this season has been fantastic.

I thought he was an imposter of a footballer a year ago, wanted him gone, as did many others. I was massively wrong. A very useful squad player, who offers strength and power. Given a bit more experience 1 on 1 infront of goal I think he chips Lloris today. His finishing, movement in the box will just get better.

Now that he's working hard he's certainly a more useful player. However, as has always been the case, his awareness of what a good player might do and his technical ability to actually do it are somewhat removed. So often he seems to see a pass or turn a man only to miskick or too-heavily play the ball. Then he gets frustrated, and I don't think anyone gets as visibly frustrated as him when it comes to realising some sort of physical limitation in doing the things he can see in his head.

Ultimately, we need a better striker.

I think he needs a suitable partner, the correct type of striker would score a bundle feeding off Anichebe holding it up, IMO.

Hate to say it, but Heskey at Liverpool was perfect for Owen.

He was brilliant yesterday. Hold up play was as good as anything you'll see, worked hard, brought others into the game and made chances for others.

There was one for Jelavic where he ran offside as Victor played him in that was criminal. Had me questioning whether he really is a proper player.

Vic's first choice and rightly so.

He's our only striker who can actually hold onto the ball with his back to goal. Jela does nothing of the sort.
Sometimes he'll muck it up on the turn and lose the ball, but he's on the right track.
Enjoying watching his development thoroughly.

Watch that pass again..... Jelavic's run was spot on, vic had the chance to play the ball two seconds before he actually did....that's why jelavic was offside hen the ball reached him. If vic had let it go when he should have jelavic was clean through.

I'll have another look but to me Jela had the freedom of that whole side and could see right along the line. He's always trying to play too tight margins and getting caught out. He should have stayed on side regardless IMO.
