Goal assists aren't threatning?

He stood in front of the keeper on a corner if that's what your refering to...his basic distribution and choice of pass was not very good in my opinion..... one that comes to mind was a run that Jelavic made but Vic hung on to the ball for a second or two too long and when he made the pass Jelavic was offside.... not really Jela's fault as his clever movement had taken his marker out of the game..... little things like this in top level football are the margins that win you games....but as I said, that's my opinion only.

he laid the ball off for mirallas as well, I thought his passing was very good in general, he maintains possession very well, far better than Jelevic, if Jelevic isn't scoring, which he isn't, then there isn't anything he does better than Vic, which doesn't make Vic the next Van Basten, but does make him a useful squad member, which is my argument

Oh my god, he ran the ball into channels, he took people on, he brought others into play, he won headers, held the ball up. Good day for the big guy.

Think people mark a player down based on reputation, he played well today just wish he put one away

Mate, not being funny but you don't rate Vic so, whether you realise it or not, when you watch a game you see what he does wrong more than what he does right. If he was world claas he'd win you over, but he's not, so he won't. The Osman haters are the same in that they see everything he does wrong but don't see the good things he does.

Sometimes people exaggerate the effect a forward has to hide the fact he hasn't scored. Sometimes people disregard their positive influence because they haven't scored.

That's just the way it is. #AzzIsAlsoWiseButMaybeNotAsWiseAsWoolyIDunnoReally

I don't doubt he's a good squad player mate, I just don't see him as the person who is gonna get us the goals we need...I just don't see it in his game...but that's just me.

I think he's an honest lad who'll give you 100 % everytime these days mick but like I said in an earlier post Strength and running are only gonna get you so far.

played very well today apart from the last 30 mins when all he had to do was hold on to the ball and give our defence a breather he didnt do it once!

You're correct mate, I don't rate him. I don't dislike him I just don't rate him.

Look, I don't think he's a world beater but fair do's to the lad he played well today and has stepped up this season in my opinion. He's still relatively young for a striker and if his finishing improves he might go up another notch again.

Bang on.

Strikers need to score.

not just score though! when under the cosh they need to collect the hoofs and hold it for as long as poss not try and turn every time. at one point vic was by far our furthest player foward he takes the ball on his chest like a demon then trys to turn fooks it up and then tries to hoof it up the line which was intercepted he needs to learn to hold the fooking ball!

We're probably not far away in what we think about him. Vic wouldn't be first choice in any of the top six teams, but he gives us an option and has come on a lot this season. In an ideal world we'd spunk 25 million on a world class striker and he'd be sat on the bench at best, but we don't have that cash so we go with what we've got.

This time last season I thought that if we sold him he'd only be good for the Championship. Now I think he'd fit in quite easily at a mid-table Premiership club, that's a lot of progress.

I remember Kevin Ratcliffe when he was gash, players often improve. I doubt Vic will ever step up to the plate like Ratters did
but I'm happy to give Anichebe more time.
