Villa Request Everton Postponement

So now Richarlison can recover, another week where we have Allan and DCL closer to fitness. And any other minor knocks that may have been picked up can be rested

Momentum will be carried because we have an excellent manager who is slowly drilling them

Why would he miss leicester?

Because he'd have missed Villa.

He now misses Leicester.

They don't serve suspensions in cup games anymore.

And besides, even that cup game is in doubt.

"At least Allan might be back for when we play them next" negates that we'd have been playing a weakened Villa team.

It also just pushes congested fixtures further back - Man City/Villa will still have to be played and injuries are part of the game.

What happens if Everton get a covid outbreak? More fixtures moved.

Games shouldn't be postponed based on lack of preparation time. You see Fulham getting thrown to play against Spurs with next to no prep.

The Premier League is a farce.

They may be fresh but they’ll be in no way fit if they’re only allowed back to training at the weekend

Not sure about that.

They're professional footballers - mid way through the season.

Last played 1st Jan. They'll next play 20th Jan.

That's at least 4/5 days full 'training ground' training.

It's just yet another hit on the integrity of the competition this season.

They will be doing individual training programmes you'd imagine. Especially those who were in contact but not positive for covid.

I don't agree with the decision to postpone any match where teams have enough players available, but that's not what the PL have decided. They've set a precedent to allow teams to request postponements so now there has to be consistency on that.

Fulham got chucked into a fixture last night at short notice with very little training, so there's a lack of even handedness in the decision making.
