Villa Request Everton Postponement

Sorry if I'm becoming tiresome on this topic, but first can I say from the Covid point of view, postponing is the correct decision.
But where the feck is the consistency. I've been looking high and low for a sensible explanation why a Villa team consisting of rugrats is acceptable to face the RS in the Cup, but not able to play a league game. Can I presume therefore that it's down to the PL/FA rule differences?
Villa had the option to postpone the cup tie but chose to play the kids so as not to cause a (bigger) fixture pile up.

Every club has to err on the side of caution at the moment, even if the system, such as it is, is open to potential abuse. We just have to focus on the positives which are an extended rest before our next game, and hopefully a stronger squad by the time the rearranged fixture rolls around.

Na mate if villa did not play they automatically got knocked out that was the rules I'm led to believe
That's why they give it a go with the kids.

I would prefer they cancel our game with Villa than Cities. That would have caused a worse back log. We will probably play Villa in a European week as they will probably abandon that rule about not playing domestic league just like they scrapped the Saturday 3pm rule. Sometimes common sense has to take over.

That's me told then. Thanks.

Seen on the net the chances are we will play City at Goodison in between Fulham and the derby. Don’t know how true that is.

Not being funny but we were told he would be fit by November and it’s just been radio silence since then. Suspect something is seriously wrong behind the scenes with this one.

No, you are quite right to raise this. WTF is going on, is he here on Merseyside or still in Frog Land?
