Villa Request Everton Postponement

How would this go over? Not sure about in the UK, but their was murmurs of the NBA trying to jump ahead in the distribution hierarchy and it was going to be a massive PR nightmare.

They had to come out and say they wouldn't. Again, I'm not there, but I couldn't see most of the average people, football fans and not alike, being unsettled with the PL getting preferential treatment.
The vaccine doesn't stop you getting covid though it's just supposed to make it less likely you get it. According the the leaflet from the NHS. Keeping topped up on vitamin d is as good in any case.

I love watching us play and the weekend would be boring without Carlo’s blues.

Realistically though we’d have a much better chance of winning if it was postponed to the end of the month as we’ll have a fully fit squad.

Funnily enough City play Villa mid next week, so that rules out the postponement being just a few days. I had a feeling our City game might be arranged for next Wednesday until I saw that.

Not having to play a league game until Leicester in 15 days most likely leaves us with a fully fit, fresh squad.

Definitely benefits us...

1: Players back from injury

2: We know how many points we need to move up the table...

So I don't actually have a problem with villa asking for the match to be postponed. Seems like a lot of their players have got it - so its possible other players have it too. Just play the game in one month and we have players injured now anyways. Our best 11 beats their best 11.

If there is a chance they give the rona to our players then we have to postpone for our own safety. You just know it will be long covid all round if we get it.

They have them available but they can only train on Saturday when their quarantine is over.

Their reason to postpone is down to preparing for the game not that they don't have the players.

At least they are giving us notice.

City just cancel then Pep says Mendy is a "nice guy".

If you had done the same for rs of course villa. As you didn't get them u11's out
The RS game was a Cup game and Villa wanted to play it. Clearly they were happy to essentially forfeit that game to focus on the league. City got away with it so level playing field should mean Villa do as well. Although City should never have been allowed to postpone the game against us a subsequent events show that they could clearly have fielded a side.
