Lol, the way it's kicking off everywhere, it's gonna end up with the team with nicest fans as the only team left in !
I've worked around plenty of Europe and with loads of different nationalities. On the contrary they're sound towards me and I get on well with them.
The problem is politicians and select groups of small minded xenophobic dickheads who think we are still at war and put ten pints down them.
That's the culture that needs eradicating right there. English, Russian, whoever really.
Scotland CAMPEONES.Lol, the way it's kicking off everywhere, it's gonna end up with the team with nicest fans as the only team left in !
Defo. It does tend to be certain countries that suffer from it rather than others though. Like England.Agree wholeheartedly, mate. That's what I was inferring, to a degree. For some sections of every nation, this warlike and ingrained hatred/injustice/clashes/traditions is what is motivating this constant need to 'prove' something when these idiots get within shouting distance of one another. There seems to be a sick excitement about having the opportunity to go into 'battle' with an old enemy or a country who have recently had some political tensions.
It's remarkable, even these many decades on, that we can't put that terrible immaturity behind us - and I'm referring to EVERY European country when I say 'we.'
Personally I think that there's more to it than the media are showing. This piece by Stan Collymore was interesting:
I don't think all England fans are angels- far from it. Especially as it's so close a few less desirables can obviously make the trip a lot easier. But I do think it's easy to point at the English as the trouble makers in it all
There's no doubt the threat of a terrorist attack leading to a dilution of resources is making France a hooligans paradise.
Looks like Dresden's ultras are at he heart of things up in Lille, although some lids I know who are up there reckon it's local French mobs attacking the Ukrainians. I suspect it's a bit of everyone attacking each other, a bit like in Marseille.
Very civilised here in Avignon. I'm just about to order food and have another glass of wine.

Classic British warfare and counter terrorism tactic actually. See Paris incident for proof. The thing is mate, it's actually ideal for a bomb to go off when you think about it - police all pre occupied with Stone Island scruffs and some nutter with a bomb lets it go amidst all the scrapping !
....on the bridge?
Always keen to read your insights Mick.
