Violence at the games

Defo. It does tend to be certain countries that suffer from it rather than others though. Like England.

The segregation on the stadium last night too was piss poor for what was evidentially a flashpoint game.

Tends to be the Germanic/Slavic nations...

England, Russia, Ukraine, Germany, Poland, Croatia.

Because I wouldn't have been near bars. Large groups attract attention.

I've never got involved in any violence in my life and I've been to footy games and major cities and lads holidays.

I just don't look for it and wouldn't respond to provocation
How do you avoid large groups - even if you drive you are part of a group that exits/enters a stadium and walks a certain distance to parking. And you can have no intention of bar hopping but have to walk through such an area to get to or from public transport.

I too have never got involved in any violence in my life but equally realise that some people just end up in bad sitautions due to no fault if their own. There were several of our fans in Lille, kids included, that were mixed up with some nasty incidents in just such a manner.

How on earth can you be 100% certain when you see video like this?

The poor sod with the plastic bag was doing absolutely nothing to get himself sparked out cold. You can try your best to avoid being in dodgy places and to avoid responding to provocative actions (two things that a lot of English fans haven't been that good at) but sometimes even with the best of intentions you can't.

He has put himself right at the sharp end of the trouble with no intention of moving away. With a bunch of hooligans running down the street towards him...

There could well have been hooligans coming from several different side streets and often when you run you attract attention anyhow.

Tbh think he was hoping it would spill past him so he could help the two people who were already down.

Its a cultural problem with the English. Next time you go away for a weekend have a look at how groups of English males behave overseas. They binge drink and are naturally obnoxious and anti social. Obviously not all of them but a large percentage of them.

They almost see it as a passage of right. They are also very naturally xenophobic too.

Compare that to the Irish and Welsh, there's a notable difference. Excerpt the North Welsh who are scumbags like @bizzaro.
