My god, the nutters are out in force today.

We really won’t see much from Mykolenko until he has settled. It could take 12 months. Young players need time and patience. Young players from abroad need more time and patience.

Patterson has been written off and he hasn't even kicked a ball for us.

Mykolenko will not be at the same level as Digne, he is young and still learning.

From what I can see, we have signed two raw fullbacks who will develop and occupy the positions for years.
Add to that, the young lad has been throw into a defensive line that's been all over the place and have had to adapt to Benitez, Ferguson and now Lampard.

He's been thrown to the lions and the bed-wetters are joyfully nibbling away. While I've not been overly impressed up to now, I won't ignore all the mitigation.

Let's see how it all pans out when we're more stable and now have a capable coaching staff.

That’s it really. Let him bed in this season and settle into his new surroundings.

Ask yourself this: how many of this Everton team would get a starting place for Ukraine?

Exactly - give the lad a chance !!

There is that but how many LBs are there in Ukraine.

However he is young, 22 YO so hopefully many years in front of him and with us. He will develop, I think he will be darrn good.

There's a difference between a squad player and a reserve. We lack squad players.
There isn’t really. Not at left back for a team with no European games etc. You have your first choice and you have back up, we have definitely not paid the best part of £20m for back up.

I’m with @BlueToff he looks a little bit more raw than I would have liked but he’s young and it’s early days so I’m not overly concerned.

Let’s be honest, half of these ultra negative views on a lad that had just arrived is because Benitez bought him. If he’d arrived under Lampard then people would have reclaimed their mental faculties, but some will be reluctant to admit that Mykolenko could be a good player for us, has improved in every performance, and already looks assured defensively and tidy in possession.

If he gets to the point when he’s playing well the loophole will be that Brands bought him Patterson and Gray, whilst Benitez bought Townsend and Rondon. Unless he’s crap in which case Benitez bought him as well. We all know this is how it will go on here which is a shame for Mykolenko

I mean only a fool would say fat stuff signed him, he was a Brands signing.

Benitez signed Rondon, thats it.

Ashley Cole and Leighton Baines could make me into a half decent left back. This lads going to be just fine

I thought the same thing, he has 2 of the best LB’s now in the coaching team, got to give the lad some time. He has played under 3 managers in 3 different formations since he signed for us a few weeks ago
