Thought it was probably his best game since joining. He doesn't have much quality though. Certainly not close to the level of our last 2 left backs.

The problem is that at his best he looks like he's going to be a solid defensive left back and that's if everything goes well. You need your full backs to be much better on the ball than he is if you're interested in being in the top half of the league.

He's just not very good. At all. We had a perfectly good left-back that the club chased because Rafael BENITEZ wanted him gone.

But, he should stay in the team because he's our only left-back and if he is going to improve then he needs minutes and we need balance on that side.

However, people saying he had a 'good game' yesterday. He didn't. He didn't have a bad game really, but he was 5/10. Offered balance but didn't complete a cross, was caught out of position a lot defensively. He just looks lost.

He's had a hell of a lot to deal with and that's got to be taken into account. However, he looked lost in the first few games before any invasion happened.

He wasn't ready. He's a 22-yr-old full-back signed from bloody Ukraine and he came in to replace a player that had been one of the most consistent LBs in the league over the last few seasons, even if he'd been below par under - I'll say it again - Rafael BENITEZ.

Stupid, stupid move.

If we stay up, we'll be investing in a LB in the summer.

See he's actually good on the ball. He takes care of it well. That's what the numbers said from his time at Kyiv. But he's not good attacking. He doesn't deliver quality crosses or create quality chances. That's not the same as being poor on the ball. He's just a more conservative player.

He got into some good positions yesterday but his crosses had nothing about them. Again, this is what his numbers from Kyiv suggested.

But you know, stats are useless and all that (shrug).

To be fair, there were a few he put in yesterday that had a decent shape about them. This is the first time I've thought that.

My perception of him is that he looks after the ball really well. If Lampard sticks around, this could be something which helps us. Yesterday there was a bit more overlapping than I've seen from him before. I think he needs to develop physically too.

He isn't ready though, that much is clear, but perhaps that should be absolutely obvious given he came here from Ukraine

The crosses thing is what I'm paying more attention to - the Kyiv stats don't suggest he's a volume crosser or one who's massively effective, but then part of that can easily be the way a team plays. See Digne's stats for us this season vs under Ancelotti for example. There's always context, but I'd say at the moment I'm of the opinion that he'll end up a competent full back without ever becoming a dynamic one who offers much in the final 3rd, and we'll probably need that

Anyone would think he's Mauripol and you lot are advancing Russian hordes with the flak he's taking in here.

Shame on you all.
Its pathetic, miserable Da's who do nothing but slam players for no reason.

He was completely fine yesterday, he did nothing at all to suggest he is a bad player like some are making out, I actually thought he made some good tackles and was good in possession

Kenny was FAR worse, he was appalling

That's damning him with faint praise though isn't it? It is quite concerning that yesterday was possibly the best i've seen him look, and we're describing it as 'completely fine' and saying he did nothing to suggest he was bad. That's a start, but it would be quite nice if he did something that suggested he was actually good.

I thought he did though, he got forward, he was composed in possession, he made some good tackles some of them as the last man, he got balls into the box.

I am not suprised so many players struggle at us and go elsewhere and are fine, so many of our fans, just write players off immediately
