After two games, we all knew he was a defender first and foremost. You don't suddenly become a good attacking full back at 23...
That's the way it's going to be with Mykolenko.
Baines and Digne spoiled us
…ah, well that’s ok then.

No, I've watched a few Championship games and he is well below par, even there. Even in that league the full backs are capabale of getting forward. He will likely be the worst full back in the Championship next year, on what I've seen this season. This guy has nothing about him.I always defended him , but today he looked like a startled rabbit and was shocking , may do well in the Championship though
We had Anthonee Robinson. He's not so bad
This is such a myth. He is weak in the air, lacks pace of revovery and is positionally unaware. There is no pace to his game so he should peak around 28-30. I think he's solid enough defensively just can't really do anything in the attacking end. He's mediocre. unfortunately I just get that feeling that he'd get really good if we gave him away.
He can pass a ball. Cross a ball etcHe always looks decent. At the very least he wants to get involved and impose himself on the game. Mykolenko never does that.
I wish we had him still. We had Anthonee Robinson. He's not so bad
I always think of it like this. Imagine an office environment where everyone is working hard, all focused and ultra professional. If you joined that business, you'd immediately push yourself to that standard. Why do none of the players we ever sign improve during their time at the club? In fact they usually get worse.
Have to wonder about the coaching at the club which is baffling as we change them that often.
Spot on. Hear so many say he's good defensively. Watch him when a counter attack happens, every time he ends up marking one of our CB's instead of staying with his man who is making a run towards the box. This is such a myth. He is weak in the air, lacks pace of revovery and is positionally unaware.
Added to the fact that he's terrified of the ball and that makes for one poor defender.
Whether we are in the premiership or championship next season i hope to never see him start a game again. We took a gamble, it didn't work, cut our losses and get rid.
I think there may have been times in the past where this could be said, but right now I honestly think there's just a real lack of quality in the squad. I can't fault them too much for attitude or effort over the last year or so but they just have absolutely no footballing ability. Mykolenko is a prime example of someone who right from the off just didn't look like they had the natural ability required to excel at this level, and that's proven to be the way it's panned out. Our recruitment has been quite astonishingly bad for what is now approaching a decade.I always think of it like this. Imagine an office environment where everyone is working hard, all focused and ultra professional. If you joined that business, you'd immediately push yourself to that standard.
Now imagine an office where everyone is playing games, turning up late, having long dinners and hardly doing any work. You may have a strong work ethic and continue to work hard, but odds are, you'd end up relaxing and putting your feet up, thinking "why am I stressing myself, when no-one else is?"
The second one is Everton. Players come here full of optimism and then quickly see the rest of them doing nothing and go to their level.
I see it every game. A player collects the ball and there should be 2 or 3 players moving into space, instead, they're stood watching him struggle. Those watching then receive the ball later on and they're faced with the same issue. We don't do overlaps, players don't move into space or support, they don't make runs, even throw in's have us trying to find someone to throw it to.
Because he didn't and you're making it up tbh.No, I've watched a few Championship games and he is well below par, even there. Even in that league the full backs are capabale of getting forward. Kanchelskis's son warned us he was League One standard - no one heeded the warning though.
Because he didn't and you're making it up tbh.
AK's son also fully endorsed and liked the signing of Dele Alli, van de Beek and actual Frank Lampard, and backed all of them, Mykolenko included. lol
He's not exactly got a 100% success rate with those is what I mean.
