Yous are scapegoating the wrong player here. Time and again Mykolenko is pilloried really for no reason in particular. Where are the statistics to substantiate what is being said about this guy? E.g. He has a high pass completion rate (and in this game probably the highest of any Everton player) and xg this season and in regards to tonight's game, all of Newcastle's threat materialised down the left. In the moment of the first goal, Pickford the goalkeeper is lauded as England number 1 but he parries the ball straight to a striker. Is nobody bothered this guy cannot catch the ball. The much vaunted distribution -- he puts the ball out at least three times that I counted. Tim Howard's kicking was superior. Doucoure and Iwobi and Gana gave sloppy balls away at least three times each. On the turnover and break-away in the Premier League, that equates to goals conceded. Such as the 4 Newcastle scored tonight. But It happens persistently week-in-week-out. The best player on the pitch tonight for Everton. Personally, Mykolenko didn't put a foot wrong. The less said about Godfrey the better... Perhaps that's why people are projecting this abysmal right-back showing onto the left back. It's delusion.
