See Frank’s most recent couple of interviews he’s mentioned trying to encourage Myko to get more involved in the attack. It’s not management instructions telling him not to get forward.

Frank’s also saying that he see’s a lot of potential for development. He’ll have all this season to play without a realistic challenger for his place, so hopefully we do see some of that development in the attacking side of his game.

Would really help the team with both fullbacks giving a threat going forward.

Is he? He was good defensively last season too.
I think his defending has improved quite substantially since last year personally. Last year he was game and dogged but not very polished. This year I think he looks like a much more rounded defender (although still not quite the absolute rock that some people seem to see). He was excellent on saturday, MOTM by a huge margin for me.

I feel like we have too many players without attacking qualities in the team now. Myko is an obvious example but now we have Gana and Onana as very defensive operators in midfield. Clearly Coleman is no outlet. Take away the keeper and the striker and Tarkowski and Coady you are left with Iwobi and Gordon (rubbish) and Gray (basically rubbish) to provide the outlets

That can’t be right.

I`m sure this will be addressed, as the main priority, was to sort out the fragile defence and a porous, immobile midfield.

In fairness he had that one moment where he caught his marker out and nudged it up the line past him only to be pulled back and whoever it was got booked.

If he starts to show more of that on top of the really decent defensive showings then we have a good player for the level we are at, with the potential for more

this guy is absolutely nowhere near a PL standard left back btw, absolutely kills us going forward every game
100% defensively he’s not bad but on the ball and going forward might as well not be on the pitch, I just do not like him but he is young and can develop with someone like cole coaching him hopefully he will improve but needs to be sooner rather than later or I’d be inclined to bring another left back in if vinagre isn’t up to the job either.

Coleman and him shouldn’t be starting games together, especially at home. Neither of them get over the half way line, support the attack or put enough balls into the box. We’re not creating or scoring enough and lack of threat from the fullbacks is one of the issues.
