Gray is only good in tight spaces when moving the ball quickly and no time to think. Give him time and he mostly takes the easy pass backward...not sure that his best position is in the wing, perhaps he would be better playing centrally alongside a target man having a free role.

Doing that would at least help to answer the question as to whether or not he is capable of contributing to the needs of the team.

I’ve seen him play mate and while defensively he’s not bad as far as modern full backs go he’s not up to the job. One for the future maybe but we can’t afford to let players develop in the first team that aren’t ready Patterson’s another one. And both add to why we’re in this position along with another load of dross in the first team.

No it’s not it’s a fact you pull out of challenges you get injured. He jumps and then brings his shoulders up pulling out instead of going right through the ball and player didn’t want it as much as Moore and got injured in the process.

When you’re used to watching Baines and Digne, this chap is so far off that standard. Even though he’s young, doesn’t look like he’ll get anywhere near their level.

Another one I’d replace asap, he would be decent backup - that’s the problem, we’ve got far too many backup players starting every week.

Better than both of them by miles but wouldn’t get a start ahead of either of them shows how non existent and awkward he looks on the ball. Tbh he would probably be better going to centre back

The defence has been largely crap the whole time he’s been here, but those two are infinitely better full backs, Baines especially.
