This line that he’s absolutely magnificent defensively is really weird. He’s pretty solid, that’s it. Not always the most alert to situations or particularly proactive, but he battles hard and doesn’t make it easy for his man to beat him in a one on one. He’s fine, but we’re very much his level.

With you on this. If someone runs at him all afternoon then he'll do a good job on them, but he's not Maldini. He can find himself in the wrong position and tbh I think he shirks responsibility purely because he doesn't want to be the one who makes a mistake.

His whole game seems to be based around doing the bare minimum which means he ends up having very little impact.

Absolutely this he’s too slow getting out to his man at times and positional sense and awareness has players moving in behind him think he could be a decent player but as it is he was brought in to be a first team starter and isn’t good enough for that along with others which inevitably has us in this position. Defence looks better because of a good centre back pairing and at times mykolenko, but going forward coady is more of a danger playing balls forward than mykolenko

He seems clueless when he got the ball.
Bottom 7% of fullbacks in the league for assists.
Bottom 13% for progressive passes.
Bottom 11% for progressive passes received.
Bottom 15% for successful dribbles.

Grim. Can’t expect to stay in the team long term with attacking contributions like that. Imagine Lampard will be seriously looking at upgrading.

That’s why the links to left backs particularly like shaw seem they either want a upgrade, or Frank will move back to back 5 with myko playing left sided centre.

Whats his stats for the defending side of his game?, thats Everton that , that we have full backs that can either defend or attack but cant do both at the highest level but isn't this why we employ 4-5 coaches to work on players failings or is that just a pipe dream, Hibbert was here 18 odd years and never improved his attacking side of his game.

I thought over the last string of games over the break he's displayed more attacking prowess and inclination but before that hes been Hibbert esque except he lacks finesse moves like this....

Made me dizzy that and now I feel sick. Nice one.

Can't see Shaw coming here, fits our "proven" profile like. Also get confused as to why people want a small fullback playing centre half When we have about 60 centre half's lol

I don’t myko their myself but I just get a feeling frank may go to that. Plus we only have 2 good centre backs. Mina is injured again, Keane is crap, and holgate just likes to pretend to look hard with his chewing gum.
