2024/25 Vitalii Mykolenko

Ffs. Anytime we have a player back, another gets injured. He’s not great but he’s generally decent in the backs to wall games, of which we now have a series of.

He's crap but ironically his best games for us have been against Salah so this is one game we could have done with him available.

Just typical, someone always seems to get injured.

So McNeil at left back then

Myko is a huge miss. More than it would appear. For everything that he doesn’t offer going forward, his defensive mindset allows whoever’s in front of him, and even Gana, to wander a bit. And for all the (overblown) criticism of him, he’s seen off some of the leagues best RWs many times.

Reported.
I’ll not have anyone talking common sense on this forum.

He's a good player defensively, had a few terrible games individually this season, but found back to his old shape defensively under Moyes luckily. We haven't been spoiled with full backs in recent years, especially not with someone that offers on both ends.

Honestly I think he’s improved a fair bit under Moyes but overall I think he’s one of the poorest left backs in the league .

As was said earlier seems to do ok when he’s man to man on someone , Salah stands out , but in 2025 any kind of side with ambition would be passing on him pretty quickly .

Huge miss for us, he’s been very solid since Moyes came back and allowed him to get higher up the pitch. Looked more confident and nearly always plays well against the so called best in the league.

I would sooner see an academy lad get the nod over Young at lb, or even Jack Harrison.
