2024/25 Vitalii Mykolenko

We all know he's a limited defensive Fullback. When asked to just be a defensive Fullback, he can be solid. But when he's asked to be an attacking Fullback, that's where his game suffers. We all see it, yet dyche insists on having myko play attacking. He'd be better having Young there, with Nidiaye cutting in like he was yesterday, opening up the left hand side. Just another example of Dyche's ineptness and poor strategising.

He can do a job defensively (when not diving in) - Salah and Saka are generally quiet against us when he's playing. But we're his upper limit, difficult to see him playing for any other prem teams

Sold Digne for £25m
Bought Mykolenko for £17m.

If that wasn't bad enough, he may be the worst Everton player I've seen for 2 decades and I've seen the likes of Li Weifeng, Per Kroldrup, Straqualursi and so on.

Can't cross, terrified to cross the half way line, weak as anything, and where he's supposed to excel is defensively, but he's so absent minded, that he often leaves his flank open, because his positioning is that of a Centre Half.

And yes, I watched Harrison yesterday and he was still somehow worse.

I thought it was clear that Dyche asked his full backs to play inside like additional centre backs?

Thats why crap like Young & Coleman have been playing rather than an actual right back

Mykolenko has been doing that long before Dyche.

As it's always annoyed me, long before everyone had given up on him.

Massive pile of turd this lad. Probably the worst LB I've ever seen 'play' for the club in over 50yrs.

Send him to the front line. Complete and utter turd
25 now, isn’t he? A dangerous age for Ukrainian men…and prospects who haven’t developed as hoped.

Sell.

Needed perking up, and this thread delivered. Very colorful. I reckon we all empathise with the Ukrainians and the plight of what's happening there. And there has been support for him and them, and that's a credit to humanity and all.

This young man didn't play football as a kid, I'm convinced. Apparently on the books of Kyiv at 13/14 years old. It's to late by then. Technique, positioning, alertness, communication, anticipation, developing use of the ball, all needs to have been an ongoing education well before that age. There's a reason clubs are scouting kids in the uk at 6 and 7 years old.

Is doing his best to hide on the field, doesn't fancy involvement to limit his being at fault for any screw ups. But that's not the mindset of a defensive unit, that's playing selfish and cowardly. I'm aware the players can notice the crowd and the groans and shouts and murmurs when the expected happens. That's top level (?) sport.

The blame lies squarely at the trotters of the bloated fat pig of a twit* that went out of his way to fall out with Digne and so flogged him as quick as he could and got in someone, anyone to fill the gap. That someone was Mykolenko, and the fee was obscene. January 1st 2022. Three years of this. Of a four and a half year deal.
benitez was sacked 15 days later.

Ancelotti up to June 2021
benitez June 2021-Jan 2022
Ferguson (caretaker) 1 game
Lampard Jan 2022-Jan 2023
Dyche 2023 - current.

This past 4 years has felt like a decade, a decade of pain, suffering and misery. Shambles, an absolute shambles!

Sorry Myk, you're all heart, but it takes more.
