A great song awaits this guy if he comes.
Mykolenko is a smarterscout young prospect, so our algorithm expects him to play at a higher level. And if Digne were staying, then having a 22yo come in eventually to succeed a 28yo would make sense. But it's not clear that Mykolenko is ready now.
Basically, this is a sensible deal if it's looking towards a future Digne sale. It's not at all a sensible deal if it's replacing Digne now (which there is no need to do).

The chairman isn't backing the manager. The chairman is Kenwright, who didn't want Benitez.Digne isn’t playing, and likely won’t again under this manager.
The chairman is backing the manager and I expect Digne to be sold. He is probably the easiest to replace from our actual decent players.
I’m over not selling players. We need to improve the squad. If we end up with a future right back and left back from the sale I’m comfortable. We’re not at the top table, we have to horse trade.
We shouldn't be spending that amount of money at all on a left-back when our right-back options are so poor.Considering our financial position it seems doubtful we would be spending 20mil on a backup.
Whatever. The chairman isn't backing the manager. The chairman is Kenwright, who didn't want Benitez.
Moshiri, the owner, is backing Benitez. Moshiri doesn't sit on the board, he doesn't do anything other than make terrible decisions and he's in the pocket of Kia Joorabchian, a ridiculously dodgy agent.
I'm fine with selling Digne, at the end of the season. Not in January when we have other areas to fill.
We're going to have to raise some big funds through selling Digne, even though we've hit down our own bargaining power through sheer pig-headedness, and who had no desire to leave, because we've spent £17m on a left-back from Ukraine...
Been convinced all season that Nathan niles from arsenal will be our right back at some point. No game time and won’t be getting any. So loan to buy in January. We shouldn't be spending that amount of money at all on a left-back when our right-back options are so poor.

I’m afraid this is the truth. It is clear there is a rift between Digne and RB , none of us know the real reason why.
The manager said Digne was to be in the team against Chelsea but opted out, again we don't know the real story behind that either.
However, it hardly seems like the relationship between player and manager is pointing towards a good working relationship for the remainder of the season.
It is hard to sign good players in January, so if their differences are irreconcilable then it is a good time to sell as clubs search to strengthen their squads
Where that will leave our squad remains to be seen.
But a player who won't play isn't much use.
There is more than one style of play.About 20 years ago you may have been right.
