If this report is true then this club is a bigger joke then I thought and hasnt learnt anything.

Why on earth would we agree to give a lad who's never kicked a ball in any of the top 5 leagues let alone the premier league 7 times his current wage to nearly £60k a week when any negotiator worth their salt would of been able to get him in for half that.

Because we are in the premier league and people and their agents aren’t stupid.

60k is relatively low for a premier league footballer.

£60k is relatively low for a proven premier league player.

Its very high for a no mark who could quite easily bomb in this league and leave us with with another bolasie, tosun, iwobi, sandro ect on our books.

But 60k is comparitevlt cheap. No club with money is signing players on 20k a week because the agents (cancer of the game) know they can get more.

Not that I have any clue on tax rules in Ukraine, but here he will see about half of that 58k. As I say, agents aren’t stupid.

and moving someone on from 60k per week isn’t that difficult. Moving your Sandros are the problem. It’s a realistic wage and isn’t over the top. Whether he works out is another question but it’s hardly a surprise.

Could be other teams in for him. Who knows why. But we've a terrible track record in these things

We couldn't move tosun or bolasie who were on £70kpw.

We need to remember where we are in this league. We're mid table we cant afford to be splashing £60k on unproven talent. Spurs couldn't afford it and other clubs more round our level couldn't either.

Its giving big contracts out to unproven players that leaves us in the financial mess we currently find ourselves in.

Offer them something reasonable with the promise that if they do well they'll be rewarded with a bigger contract and if they don't like it get someone in who does. The kids not a world beater so I doubt we'd find it hard to get another lad of his talent level in.

Problem is, signing known players hasn't worked out for us either.

So no marks are the best way to go, probably not at 20 million but that doesn't surprise me with our track record.

I'm just hoping 20 million for a lad none of us has heard of is going to be a great bit of business.

Cos its roughly the going rate for a 21 cap 22 yr old Champions lge player, international full back.

After a good season or 2 his agent would be banging on the door for a better contract.

If the roumors are true that the price for this lad are £17m and we are paying him £58,000pw then over the course of a 5 year deal we'll of paid him over £15m in wages. That means we'll of paid the lad nearly the same amount we paid for him.

Absolute madness to guarantee that to someone completely unproven in this league.
