It is a ridiculous amount of money but amongst all the gloom and doom the whole thing has been a very welcome trivial distraction. Much better than the Jonny Depp/ Amber Heard one because that featured some very nasty accusations of domestic violence. This one has been pure frivolous fluff.

agreed...i couldn't get onboard with the cheerleading for Depp or Schadenfreude for Heard...even if the verdict was correct (which it appears it was). It's a serious subject matter generally, countless women worldwide still endure violence from their male partners...and many don't speak about it or see a way out.

The whole zany hype for that show-trial left an uncomfortable taste.


Rooney vs Vardy, as you say, was just silly...even victimless, relatively speaking.
