The rain, it raineth every day
Later five seconds : it's cider and a babbling loud annoying voice.
*Ponders whether to eat another Werther's original.

See a doctor. Had an old family friend who used to live in the country and kept bees. Had them for years, no probs. Then one day got stung and went in to anaphylactic shock. Went to hospital and was ok, but another sting shortly after that could prob have killed her. My gf also recently developed an allergy to pulses (peas, beans etc), having previously been allergic only to nuts. Had a serious reaction last summer and had to be given her epipen. If I were you I wouldn't wait for another bite tbh.Wasn't sure where to post this, so I suppose that makes this the correct thread.lol
Does anybody on here suffer badly from insect bites?
I'm very much an 'outdoors type' person and as a result I have had numerous insect bites over the years. I've always thought of them as a minor irritation, which usually just results in a small lump and a bit of an itch.
On Monday morning I was bitten on the front of my neck. I didn't see the insect but I was aware of an itch. By Monday night my neck had swollen considerably and by Tuesday morning I looked like the elephant man and the swelling was painfull to touch. This did ease during the day, with the pain and most of the swelling disappearing completely by Tuesday night.
Now that was no major problem and I probably wouldn't have give the matter another thought . . . but on Thursday morning I got another bite on my wrist below the base of the thumb on my right hand. This followed a very similar pattern and by Thursday night my hand and forearm had swollen massively and was very hot and painful.
As with the first bite the swelling and pain did subside without the use of medication and by Friday lunch time there was virtually no trace.
I have no idea what the insects involved were, or indeed whether both bites were caused by the same species, but I'm now a bit concerned that I may have developed an allergy to insect bites.
Time will tell I suppose.
Thanks for the advice ? Hope your girlfriend is OK.See a doctor. Had an old family friend who used to live in the country and kept bees. Had them for years, no probs.
