Was searching for something today and as is the way, came across something from the past. In the 1930's my dad did several programmes for the BBC called 'Flippant Fingers'. Dad was a pianist. I turned up a copy of a BBC contract for one of these programmes dated 1938. The programme was put out by BBC Manchester 'live' and Dad had to travel to Manchester to play (solo) - 15 minutes. His fee was 3 guineas plus seven shillings and one penny expenses. The contract was addressed to where we lived at Wyndham Road in Wallasey. The following year, I have a fairly clear memory of the lady who lived over the road bursting through our front door shouting 'we're at war, we're at war'. I was aged three and a half then.
