Well deserved award.
So I’ve been building guitars here in Spain
Since October
And now I’ve decided to retire here
It’s warm
It’s beautiful
I have a creative circle of friends
I have a military pension from 27 years of service and in September 18 I get my state pension
The two pensions together leave me very comfortable here where I would struggle in Manchester
So decision made .... 3 bedroom house rented
Wish me well ! Oh and if you’re in southern Spain Giza shout all blues will be treated as honoured guests en mi casa

My parents retired near Mojácar about 15 years ago - one of the best decisions they ever made and think it has added years to their lives. Wishing you a very happy retirement!

Congratulations on making that decision and best wishes on your new retirement life @fandjango You seem to have grown very fond of your new guitar hobby and being a painter too then it seem la you fit perfectly in such a creative culture that’s Spain. I won’t hesitate to give you a shout next year when we make it to Europe. Our hope is to travel around for 4-5 weeks. My brother lives in Belgium so we will be going there and Liverpool is also on the list and now also Spain

Southern Europe is (for me) the ideal retirement spot. Great climate, plenty of fresh food available year round, only a couple of hours on a plane of you fancy a trip 'home.'
