Warming Plates !

I started doing it because the Mrs takes ages to finish a meal and by which time it's gone cold. So a red hot plate keeps the food hot for longer. It also helps that I don't tell her the plate is red hot, especially if she is doing my head in

I chill plates to put cold food on in summer.

Warming plates though? Middle class poncery.

Think Brendan has been at the lemo again tbh

Not for salads or ice cream, but otherwise yeah. I like my food hot.

I also warm my coffee cup before using the coffee machine, even though I'm not a tory. Cold coffee should be a crime.

To be honest, I've never even heard of people warming plates before putting food on or whatever they do, what is the reason for it lol
It keeps the food warmer for longer whilst you're eating it. I do it a lot but these days only when the oven is already turned on for cooking. Leccy's too expensive now. Going by the earlier posts I guess that makes me an old fart .

In the barmy world of St Helens, you used to warm your plates and then take them to the chippy to put your tea on it. That and sleeping with their sisters.

Complete with a tea towel, to wrap the food, that`s already been wrapped up, on the plate you took with you.

I once went out with a girl from Haydock and I was in stitches the first time I saw this in the local chippy.

Don`t get me started on pea wet and scraps, the utter wronguns.
