More accurate than a £10k Rolex and will probably outlive my family.
It better be, it's solar, quartz-based and syncs up with the atomic clock every day...cheating! lol
My ProTrek does the same things but I also get temp, barometric pressure, altitude, sunrise and sunset times...blahblahblah.
And yes, they'll probably outlive us!
Own a Garmin 235 myself but considering an upgrade to a 700 series...
There were massive discounts on those (50%+) on Amazon a short while ago...don't remember which ones
To be honest I should probably learn to swim before I upgrade, but that's saying too much... although reading through this thread reminds me I have a cheap watch given to me by Mrs Nigh that I need repaired. Either needs the motion fixed or a simple battery swap, but I should take it by and have it checked out. It's a Torgoen that looks something like this:
Looks a little like a Seiko Flightmaster, minus the chrono...if it takes a battery then the movement itself might not be too expensive to replace if it's hosed.

The watch was under $300 new so the movement can't cost too much... I would guess the newer models use something of the same movement, but I really don't know much about the inner workings of a watch except the pieces are small, and when I was a kid I disassembled and broke my NES blaster and couldn't play duck hunt, so that gives you some insight into my wrench turning skills. I'll be doing whatever the local watch repair shop says they can do.
I thought you were a forum supporter? After I read that I was going to post an early pic of me in the supporter section with said blaster in hand, on Christmas (well, Eve...blame the Scandi heritage). Yeah, the movements in watches around that range a pretty ubiquitous. Probably depends on how old it is.
That Seiko looks nice, not too many watches I've seen with an E6B dial although it has some extra features I'm not familiar with; at second glance maybe that's just cardinal headings on top of degrees.
I bought a mishmash but haven't ponied up for the subscription yet. I'd maybe get a mug too but I hear these don't mail to the US...
