Late lunch today so didn't go anywhere; got bored so started reading work-related stuff, then got pissed at myself for doing it on my lunch, so found something else to ponder. What do you do besides constantly check your watch?

Lurkers...you don't need to drop 1k+ to get a tidy timepiece. This is less than 300 US and it's given me nothing but love. Still can't believe the accuracy...less than a second a day is nuts for an out-of-the-box mechanical of ANY price. Obviously luck is involved but, yeah...#'s are legit, hand on heart. Figures that I didn't buy it for myself, so can't take the glory. Worn 24/7 since the first read day. And yes, I've worn it since Feb17th, just didn't monitor it.

Yes! I've found that with my Orient Mako! Stunning watch for the price. And very accurate too!!

I love the innovation behind minute-repeaters. All gears and springs that can chime out the time when you push a button. This movement was a joint parntership between Omega and Blancpain.

Perhaps you caught me on a bad day, but given @Gwladys St. Glory more diplomatic response, I should have worded my response more delicately. But anyways, many of us in this thread just like these tiny mechanical or battery-driven devices that have a huge history in how we measure the space between life and death, and between nothing and eternity.

It's not, I'm coming up on 30 years of it being the case so it's not like I have no vested interest. Your comment about watches is from the outside, looking in...just like a fan of another club. If you don't get it, I get it...but watches still exist, for a reason...we're hardly alone in this.
