Watches

Latest Tudor Ranger looking rather tasty.

£2170 for the strap version looks pretty good value too.
Has a nice simplicity to it. I still like the (now discontinued) North Flag as it has a bit more design elements than the new ranger.

Anyone got good intel on where to source the best nato straps? I have had a few cheapos off ebay just to see what the watches look like on them but they obviously don't last very long as they eventually frey.

Paid a bit more for a couple from Sniper Bay but they look like they're going to go the same way as the cheapos now.
I find they all tend to fray after awhile. I've bought from strapcode (https://www.strapcode.com/collections/nato?page=4) and StrapsCo (https://strapsco.com/product-category/nato-straps/) (https://strapsco.com/product-category/zulu-straps/)

@Gwladys St. Glory Turned me onto a brand here for NATOs, but I can't remember their name; they look like this: (@Gwladys St. Glory what is the name of this company?)

Haveston....they're based in London. I love them because that one in particular is a single pass so you get better, what I'd call, "ride height" compared to alot of NATOs. It's also more of a seat belt type nylon so they're not stiff and scratchy. Looks like they've now also added leather reinforcement to the pin holes and the end of the strap.

I find almost any type of nylon NATO is going to fray on you at some point, just put a light flame to it! My Perlon (type of material) hasn't frayed on me yet and, due to the weave itself being used as the pin hole, you can normally get a perfect fit.

@Shevin Keedy - Haveston straps

If you're in the US, I primarily use Holbens if I order online. Good selection of materials+brands, quick on shipping.

That strap works so great with steel case/blue dial watches...real banger on the Panerai there. ;)

Mate that aquaracer looks ridiculous!! How would I find one ? Model or something?

What you doing in Madagascar?
Thanks. Looks like bedfordblue posted the model. I study lemurs. And we have finally made it back here after two years of absence due to Covid. We are still in the capital city but will start our drive down to our field site tomorrow. I’ll post pics when I’m back (no internet, electricity, running water where we are) in about 20 days.

That appears to be a $3.5k watch (hell-of-a-daily), who knew there was so much cash in lemurs. Do they excrete gold or something?

Fair comment. I get that a lot. But watches are my hobby. I've been buying/selling/trading watches for about 18 years now. This watch, to be sure, I did buy straight-up, but the others I own are from selling/trading ones from my collection.
