Watches

Lovely.
Are they available from AD stock still or do they need to be ordered?
Also how’s the weight on the wrist, is it quite lightweight or still have a bit heft to it?
Thank you!

I got mine from an AD, but it was the first one they had ever received. Got very lucky, after seeing one in Zurich I sent a note to the AD who I had bought my GMT from and told them if they ever got one to call me. They called and said you won’t believe this but we just got one for the first time today.

It is lighter, but not too light if that makes sense (some of that is I am currently wearing it on the nato, but still it is a bit lighter than my GMT is when I have that on the nato).

I thoroughly enjoy wearing it.

Anybody got any tips on how to get the back off a bog standard watch to change the battery. My next option is a hammer and chisel. lol

Just had that Million Pound Pawn on ITV. A fella started investing in Rolex watches 6 years ago via the broker, spent £260k over that period and sold them to the same broker for £525k

Don’t buy crypto, buy Rolex

I was reading recently that Rolex prices were dropping because crypto bros have been buying but no longer have demand. But maybe that wasn’t a real story.

True, as far as I'm aware...had to come down, the entire Rolex market is/was getting stupid. If I had the money and patience, I'd be all over AL&S, just from a pure craftmanship point...they put Rolex to shame. There's a lot of marketing money behind Rolex, they're generally not all that impressive, apart from the price point. Rolex fanboys will lose their shiz when they read that.

Not a Rolex fanboy but I do like the company a lot, perhaps more than the watches they make. But their prices are strangely outrageous. Hopefully will drop soon. AL&S are superb, and I recall the days you could get a used one in 2008-2010 or so for under 10K. Those days are gone sadly.

Rolex can be a minefield so many high quality clones kicking around and in essence Rolex retain ownership of the watch in the sense that when you give it to them for a service they decide which parts they will replace. You could own a beautiful 70s sub and it might come back to you with a new handset or in some rare cases even a new dial.

My son has one, looks amazing on an orange Nato.

Do we have any actual watch dealers/jewellers on here guys? not visited this thread before.

I have a nice 18k watch from a good brand that I bought many years ago from a pawnbrokers that I've not worn in ages, I'm not really well up on watches and don't do bling.

I've decided to sell as it just languishes in a drawer but struggling to get good honest advice as to whether the watch is worth more as a watch. or to just weigh it in for scrap value. I'd love trusted advice from a fellow blue. Many thanks guys. Watch is in perfect order.
