No.

Not yet. He needs to prove his management credentials and be long clear of scandal in his personal life before he is an acceptable candidate.

Maybe in a few years, but hopefully whoever we get will be a raging success and Rooney's name will never be up for discussion again but we shall see.
Like Silva?
Like Martinez?
Like Koeman?
Like Ancelotti?
Like FSW?

Big gamble, but short term would give the club a lift. Certainly a better bet than the likes of Martinez, Mourinhio, Lampard etc...

I think he'd be a good choice.

Not because of his Everton connections, but because he is clearly doing a Herculean job at Derby when that club should be dead and buried.

At least Wayne went out and got expereince...unlike other's who hang around like parasites waiting for the job to be handed to them on a plate.

That said, I would rather we had a man of more experience than WR.

Reluctant no from me, not yet. If we’re going for the heart over head choice just go with Duncan. Rooney probably a future manager but give him time.

I am not sure if there will ever be a right time for something. In my experience in life if you wait things out and hope for better, sometimes better does not arrive. The stars might align here and could be perfect time for him.

If he kept Derby up maybe Ralf at United would want him to takeover at the end of the season. Small chance but who knows what he wants their football strategy to be.

Think the results he's achieving with an even bigger mess than us in Derby the last few months are quite noteworthy. I would back him but it's a big risk.
I think any managerial appointment is a big risk. I think everyone we have had since moyes has shown that. If you go for a big name manager they leave for the first big job that comes along.
Rooney is cutting his teeth but I see him as decent risk. He has done better than anyone ever thought he’d do… I just worry about his social life being a distraction and undermining himself

Does he? No one would have blamed him if he walked away ages ago. It's because of him they're even in with a shout of staying up
Thats exactly why.
They've a lot more still to do, there's more sacking on the way - many of the day to day people not on mega wages.
The players have bought into him and, whatever it is he's peddling, (which doesn't matter,) its working
He says 'kit and bails, the on field house of cards will collapse like the off field one did.
Stick it out wazzer- it's the right thing to do
