Yea, I think it’s worth pointing out that he was an utter disaster at Chelsea ….and did nothing different at derby.

for my mind, it’s an incredible gamble to appoint a very inexperienced manager to a job at a club in dire trouble both on and off the pitch.

what could possibly go wrong?

I havent seen 1 name linked who isn't a gamble.
Who's the guarentee out there?

It’s bizarre this. Mid table in the Championship without the points deduction is now the kind of track record we should be aiming for ?

Blackburn are massively over performing this season, it was expected they’d struggle after selling a lot of players and spending hardly any money and yet they’re right in the race for promotion. Defying all the odds.

Shall we get a poll up for Tony Mowbray ?

If Chelsea can take Lampard after Derby then why not? At least we can have that in common with Chelsea as well as sacking managers every year.

I didn't really think Rooney was ready yet. I think Rooney and Big Dunc as a pair might seem a bit neanderthal to many but it could work. But please not Martinez, please not Nuno.
Stick Rooney in a pyramid and dig him up in 2000 years he still won’t be ready

I hadn't given it a thought until today.. When I spoke to a friend who supports Derby and he couldn't be more effusive. Apparently he has them in good order despite all that club is going through.

So the other main points are: He loves the club, he might get a tune out of the lazy buggers, he might even put his boots on and finally, if the worst happens and we're relegated far better it be in the hands of someone who cares about us (like Shearer and Newcastle for example) than someone we would vilify for losing - and, after all, it's not exactly Rooney's fault we're in this mess.

No. I remember being at ayresome park in 88 when he scored a last minute goal from a corner to take it to extra time. Missed our train home.
Never forgave the ugly tw@t.

Definitely not. Don't be fooled by this season. there is a siege mentality at Derby with the points deduction and the pressure is completely off the players. Last season they finished 1 point and place from relegation. He may become a good manager in time but now is not that time. Remember what our run in is like, we want to be well clear of trouble before we reach those fixtures. Appointing a novice for the feel good factor is madness. Also if he joined, his Asst Manger would be Big Dunc. Where is the proven tactical nous between those too?
