Who else are you wanting??

We've tried unknowns - Silva. Failed.

Well knowns - Koeman and Allardyce. Failed.

World stars - Ancelloti. Failed because he abandoned us at first whiff of a bigger job.

There's pretty much no other directions to go other than those we know. Martinez and Rooney!
I agree with this in the main and the sentiment of it.

The only things I would disagree with are that Allardyce didn’t fail, he took us from near the bottom and finished 8th.
Also I don’t think we gave Koeman enough time to turn it around.

I wouldn’t have Martinez back and anywhere near the club personally, they do say never go back.

I’d be happy to give Rooney or Lampard the job, but would prefer Kovac still.

I have little faith in our owner to butt out of things he knows little about. He is too easily influenced & acts upon those devil whispers in his ears. A manager like Rooney does show early promise for sure but i think he gets walked over by Moshiri & his dodgy deals. Martinez is old news & i want a manager that unites us fans, not carry on a divide. As for a name, i wanted Christophe Galtier before Rafael & i still would like him now. He's not available but neither is Rooney, Potter or Mourinho but it hasn't stopped people talking about them.

All this garbage about him being a “manc lover” or a traitor.
It’s pathetic, seriously.

Bill Kenwright the owner of Everton football club forced Wayne Rooney out, end of story.

It’s him you should have the problem with, not the then 19 year old lad who couldn’t believe that his boyhood club were selling him.

Then when he came back as a United player, he was the subject of toxic abuse by Everton fans, which reading this, some of you are still dumb enough to continue with.

Yes he put a transfer request in, but that is what the club made him do, because they wanted to sell him to Chelsea and he wanted to go to United.

Grow the F up some of you, you are cringeworthy and beyond embarrassing to be associated with as fellow Evertonians.
Exactly mate, if grown up fellas cannot see this they are absolute idiots. That’s a kid who since the age of 6 has made his way to Belfield and trained everyday, work his arse off, leaves the club (forced out) in a better position he came into it. He basically saved the club and you’ve got fat middle aged fellas eating pukka pies in the stands giving him dogs abuse, no wonder he reacted the way he did.

Any one with self respect and high emotions would boil over.

Agree on that but all in all I would say Allardyce was the only one who done the job he was brought in to do, probably got the most abuse also. His treatment by the fans was wrong.

He was never here for the long term.

Rooney says only speculation. And that Everton know that they have to go through the Derby administrators if they want to talk to him.

To me, it comes across as Wayne saying hurry up more than anything

Don’t know if he is saying “hurry up” but he is definitely leaving the door wide, WIDE open for Everton to make that approach.

Don't necessarily think being a good player equals being a good manager. Would be stupid and naive to think that. There are more examples were that's not the case then were it would prove that point.

I somehow would be prepared to take that risk with Rooney. As said in other threads though. Somerhing has to change within snake pit Everton, because as things stand right now, it's a poisoned chalice for any manager stepping in.
Then what makes you think he is the guy to correct course and get us back on track? He hasnt done anything like that before and has very, very limited managerial experience. I find it more likely he would end up in a ‘i dont know what to do’ situation than improving us in any way.

In the end it's all about opinions and preferences, isn't it? There are absolutely no guarantees with whatever manager we bring in. Said in another thread that I hope we bring in a DOF (if we're actually going down that route again) and let him make the decision on the new manager to be. It's the only sensible and correct way to go about it imo.

My football knowledge is probably about the same as Moshiri. I just got a lot less money and even less influence on matters Everton.

I think things will start moving after the weekend’s games are out the way
A win tomorrow eases the pressure a little. Lose and I think there may well be movement next week.

The best scenario is that Ferguson can pick us up wins and points over the next couple of games.

If we are moving to safety our options are much increased and they don't have to make a decision from a position of panic.

The longer Ferguson stays as caretaker, the more comfortable our position becomes as I see it.

Two defeats over the coming period of games is probably the limit of what Moshiri would accept, before appointing literally anyone else.

Very hard to pick between Lampard and Rooney.

Rooney + Ferguson could be the dream team with the likes of Baines and Ebbrell in support.

Nice to hear about Cahill maybe getting involved too...

If Ferguson goes unbeaten and can pick up an average towards 2pts a game then he may even get the job himself.

Has to get something tomorrow...then a win againsy Newcastle is imperative.

Youre not really giving any answer to why you think Rooney would do more good than harm here. Not trying to bully you in any way, just curious as to your ressoning.

13th is not near the bottom
