Maybe he's ok with him going somewhere that can never come back to bite him. Hence why a move to Everton is rather more unlikely.

I don't Jose is bothered by us - whether that's foolish on his part time will tell but i don't think he'd have any issue selling to a premierleague rival. He sold Cech to Arsenal which i still think was mental, he sold Mata to United. If he wants rid of a player or the player wants to move he seems happy enough to let them go where ever they want.

I take your point about wanting an "up and comer" but I think if he was to come, he is still at a level in his career far above those three you mention were.

They were proper has beens by the time they fetched up at Everton.
 
Don't think WR would ever be held in high regard by the Mancs, irrespective of his goal scoring achievements because he's a Scouser and an Evertonian. He always will be. Can you see them building a statue of him next to Law, Best and Charlton. No neither can I. It's not Wayne's fault the club couldn't match his ambition or ability and I for one would like to see him back at Goodison in some capacity.

He's a blue. Just happened to fulfill his personal ambitions at a club that could help him do it.

Short of literally dropping his kecks and dropping a fresh steamy one at the feet of the Dixie Dean statue, i'm not sure what more he could have done to turn his back on Everton.

A great career, and good luck to him, but he is not one of us.

Which wouldn't bother me if we were getting the 2010 Wayne Rooney. But honest to god, how is it even worth this much discussion? 3 league goals in 11 months. He's finished at this level. Let it go lads.

He's been involved in 15 goals this season (scored and assisted) at a rate of 1 every 110 mins.

That's better than anyone in our squad

He'd also be our second top scorer behind one of the best on the league in Rom. Quite fitting stats for a second striker
