Transfer Rumour Wayne Rooney

The guy is the best footballer England has produced in my lifetime (the last 30 years for the avoidance of doubt). For me, if he takes a major wage cut, there's no issue and I'm delighted for him to be back at the club.

I do, however, believe that we should be using available funds to strengthen the team with players for the long term and sincerely hope that those in charge feel the same.

Fair enough. He would have to take an absolutely massive wage drop in my eyes though. I.e. nowhere near a top earner in the squad.

he will take a pay cut, he will more than pay for his move with new sponsorship deals / shirt sales, he will be a huge influence on attracting players we need to sign to Take us to the next level without having CL, the profile of the club will raise globally, the experience he can share with the emerging U23s, he is a leader and winner and he has still a lot to offer on the pitch......

If Koeman sees him as a fit for footballing reasons, then fine.

If Moshiri sees him as a fit for ego/status/shirt sales, then no.

And as Moshiri has said publicly that the football is left to Koeman and the football staff, well, I would trust Koemans judgement, even if I cant see it.

That said, I deliver parcels, and he is paid a bit more than me as a football manger.

This has loan written all over it imo, he has a massive contract with united which they would have to buy out or he join us on loan we contribute to his wages and he can't play against the mancs.

Cant see Rooney's ego digesting being a loan player myself. That said, never met him.

May be a bit if both at play. Ibrahmovic had proven that you can be of a mature age, "super star" status and still make things work for the club both on and off the pitch.

Looks like it is more than likely going to happen.

Think this has a lot more to do with being a statement signing than someone who will massively improve the first Xl.

If he wants to come he needs to find his hunger and work ethic. And above all he needs to fit into our wage structure. He wouldn't be our best player so he needs to accept the appropriate sum. Otherwise we need to tell him to do one.

Im kinda against it as he is in his 30s but i never stopped liking him as a player when he left us... thus I kinda dream about the thought of him coming back, playing boss because he loves everton and helping us win our first trophy.
