Stekelenburg - 2 Dutch leagues, 3 Dutch cups
Robles - FA Cup
Williams - league cup
Schneiderline - FA Cup
Gueye - French league
Barry - Premier league, FA Cup
Mirallas - Greek league, Greek cup
Lennon - league cup
McCarthy - FA Cup
Lukaku - FA Cup, Belgian league
Kone - FA Cup

Rooney - 5 Premier leagues, Champions League, FA Cup, 3 league cups

Still think he's good enough to do something on the pitch for us but what he can bring to the dressing room / training pitch is even more important if we want the club to step up IMO

If he helps us get closer to top 4 / winning trophies then I couldn't give a monkeys what they pay him.

What about me?

You're beautiful as you are IanFrand

Doesn't that only work if you're saying they're gonna be as good as the first time around though? I mean, it's not like we're expecting the lad to be 16 again. Remember the name? Those days are gone and we're aware of the fact. I'm pretty sure THEY also say "don't snub yer nose at quality" too. Might have made that up like.
He's fat he's old he's going to cost us a bomb makes no sense Rooney for manager then hey?lol

I don't think that trophies players have previously won are that relevant. Should Stek be in goal because he's won more than Robles? Should we have kept hold of Cleverley because he's won the league before?

We may as well sign Pele.

Think of the marketing potential from the likes of Cialis.

Coz that's what is important.

If he does join (rejoin) us, then the question is, what do they plan to do with him? I mean, they must have an idea before they splash the cash. I personally don't see him being a 90 min player week in week out, not his fault, he's just not 22 anymore. He would more than likely have a bench role, e.g. coming on for Barkley in the last 20 or 30. His experience could be invaluable for the youngsters - no guarantee . His high profile could help the Everton brand - no guarantee. But I just can't see him being a regular first teamer. Surely he knows this, as that's why the mancs want rid (it's costing them a fortune just to keep him on staff). Which also means, he has to be aware there would be a massive pay cut.
However, I don't see this as a Gazza situation. Rooney is not exactly heading down skid row, or walking with a zimmer frame.
All things considered, I guess we will find out just how much of a blue he really is, by what he is willing to sacrifice to wear the shirt again. One thing is for sure, this debate/dead horse bashing is going to go on until he does something definitive.

Never said anything about who should be picked, my own view is that they should be picked on form but RK is the man to answer that.

I think having players in the squad who have experienced success and know what it takes to win competitions is pretty relevant if you want to develop young players and help them become successful.

It's clear Moshiri wants to develop the global brand of Everton.
I think 'Everton Live' on SSN today was part of that, putting Everton front of mind in the media - breaking the traditional Sky clubs stranglehold.
For me Rooney makes sense to support this. He is a global superstar. He is Englands top goal scorer ever, he is probably in the top 5 most known/ recognised footballers in the world.
I think he will come back for the above reasons, he will also have an impact commercially (directly and as a knock on effect of the above). And he will still contribute on the pitch, he still is at United, he still is at England, even as not a 'nailed on starter' he undoubtedly improves our match day 17!

Rooney for manager then hey?

Well I didn't go that far now did I? I think the guy could do a good job for us for 2/3 years at a reduced rate. If he's willing to accept that then I'll be happy if he comes. I don't think he's as burnt out as some would have you believe. I think his mind is jaded, not his legs. Needs a new atmosphere, and where better than Goodison where the lad made his name? Ain't gonna argue though mate. No one single player polarises us Evertonians like Mr. Rooney does.
